Speaking as an outside observor ( of the entire human race), I must say that the reliable reports I have read over the last few months would strongly suggest that Comrade's concerns are more than valid. If democaracy and voting are so utterly key to the apple pie way of life, shouldn't the tiniest sniff of a hint that something might be less that 100% perfect 100% of the time, drive the entire nation into a frenzy?
Y'all need to get yer heads round this.....what winds us about about Yous'uns is things like the above, and things like the list of "republican" beliefs I posted. It's the bizarre double standards, the unbelievable self-centredness ( of the nation, not any individual here I mean)...and frankly, that you o not live up to your own hype. The US media pumps out borderline propaganda with the whole "truth, justice, and the American Way" malarky. We are raised on this shite....me less so than most, having always favour British TV shows, even when I was a kid[2], when we later find out that the US, in addtion to the occassional great service to mankind, does actually do really evil shit too, within and without......it pisses us off. From then on, hearing US rhetoric is painful, upsetting, and infuriating.

Oddly though, it's the mass,the shapeless throng, that we hate, I have not met any Americans I wanted to throttle, I've never met any online here either (few fckers on Linux anf F1 boards I heavily disliked).
Maybe I am speaking only for myself in this, but it's how I see it....the national hypocracy is what drives us nuts.....that and the fucked up things that happen there of course, but I'm willing to put that own to the sanity bell curve being very widebottomed with such a large population.....no actually...you actually do have a mathematically significant over proportion of fucking LOONS.
Ultimately you need to act like what you are. You're a rich, powerful, and relatively well educated nation, in fact the richest and most powerful. So why not act like a big brother ( not THAT BB FFS!), instead of the school bully..taking everyone's lunch money and telling lies about people.
