To be fair, most of the topic's could've been in one thread.
But realistically, what are the odds that somebody would give careful consideration to whether an existing thread would be appropriate for a post when they started a thread?
The odds are very slim if you're a typical arrogant Yank desparate to sound enlightened and informed by talking in great depth, on a public forum, about a laughable election/legislative system that 90% of posters have NO FUCKING INTEREST IN.
Most people familiar with how this forum operates would realise that spamming it with eight threads in one day relating to a minority interest is a bit inappropriate.
The Shed worked in shifting the inane ramblings of the forum's resident window-lickers into the one manageable space. I'm sure this idea of mine to create an American's only forum would be equally successful.
How about a Brit only forum?
Then the rest of the world won't have to be bored to tears with reading about how drunk you lot are, or how your hangovers are progressing, or how your footie team is great and the other footie team is shite...
Once again: Random people make random threads. There's no conspiracy to flood the forum with threads on one topic-- excepting the flood of shed threads we had-- and no organization insofar as people *thinking* about whether a post topic would fit into another already exisiting thread. Random people make random posts. It's a forum. And here's the kicker: The forum doesn't revolve around you. It's not about what YOU find interesting. It's not about what YOU want to read.
Once again: If you don't want to read a thread, then don't read it. Simple, really. You have no interest in a thread? Great. Then DON'T FUCKING READ IT.
