Total guilty pleasure!

The entirety of Total Age is great, while the rest is sort of, meh. (Except for Control I'm HERE, of course)

Geez.. I don't think anything about Nitzer Ebb Should be regarded as a guilty pleasure. Fantastic band and asthetic through and through. Showtime is what really opened my ees to them. My friend's dad dropped us off at Red Rocks Amphetheater ( we were 16) to see DM on the Violator Tour. Nitzer Ebb completely blew us away. Everything was so cranked, their computer crashed in the middle of the set and had to abort but it almost seemed as though that was part of the experience. They had the entire audience begging for more but they couldn't do anything about it! They completely has us all by the balls, though. Unfortunately, I missed them last time around at The Gothic Theater in Denver due to my scheduling conflict. Hopefully, they'll put out a DVD of that tour. I know 50Poundnote saw them in San Fran.Pffffftt. I'll have to go with Join In The Chant by default. Great, great band with fantastic vision. When I take walks alone and make up songs in my head, some of them are with that particular asthetic in mind.

I've never got around to getting any of their stuff but I've liked what I've heard them do. Does anyone have any recomendations for which of their albums etc. may be best to start with? I tend to prefer electronic/dance music styles so any information would be appreciated. Cheers!

Saw em live a couple of times. Couldnt work out why they thought it was cool to wear shorts. Wondered if i'd gone to see ACR in error.

Never underestimate the power of "Join in the Chant" to get a dancefloor superbly fired up.

they just released a double CD compilation

Ebb certainly qualifies as electronic dance... was once called industrial dance, then later electronic body music. Join in the Chant was a "non-acid house" acid house oddball hit. First album That Total Age is full of stupid youthful energy (to the extreme)... sort of like simple electronic punk, like a punk Depeche Mode on meth

Meh? Never heard of them, I've heard that they sound like Depeche, and Charlie (Alan Wilder) actually produced an album for them in '91
