Or Milosevic.. at least Pinochet died a natural death. Prince Charles loved him...
We love keeping dictators alive unless they do the honourable thing. Whats the odds on Saddam being executed?

Before the year's out.
No chance, I guess, of Pinochet being buried at sea? Disappeared, from a helicopter, like his victims?
Probably a bad idea-- what did the sharks ever do to deserve such a rotten corpse?

Shes on her way out... no problemo
It seems like all the dictator-assholes (with the exception of S.H.) get off without a trial. I remember back when Pol Pot was found, they were all set to bring him to trial and the bastard gave up the ghost. They always get off before the hangman's noose can be adjusted for their swelling egos ![]()
Sidenote: is whacking Saddam really the best thing to do? Obviously the guy did some bad shit more than worthy of getting killed, but won't that just make the nuts who supported him more angry and more likely to blow stuff up? Of course, him being alive gives the nuts a rallying point (much like Rudy Hess in Spandau was a focal point of a lot of Neo-Nazis back in the old days), so killing him wouldn't be out of the question either. ![]()

Well, agreed it might give a bunch of supporters reason to cause more violence, but I think Iraq, as a whole could only do better by his death. Too many people are still too scared of him......the country can't move on without an answer of "will he control Iraq again?" that the people worry over. Kill him a couple times over I say![]()
Nice. One less SOB screwing things up in this hemisphere. Too bad he didn't live long enough to see justice.
Castro is not far behind.

just like hitler made germany into a strong economy, right? ![]()
you cant argue with the facts.
And while some people might take this offesively, so be it. Pinochet took a backward economy, and turned it into the Tiger Economy of South America. Stronger than the inconsistent Brazil, the unstable Argentine, and the corrupt ones everywhere else.
Of course, its been mostly ignored that there has been lots of Chileans out in the street mourning. And its not been forced, not like it will be in Cuba when Castro pops it.

and pinochet was, of course, completely uncorrupt and democratically elected.
nope, you can't argue with the facts.

not to mention his kindness to his political opponents. if only all countries were run by manevolent dictators, the world would be a much better place. while i'm at it, put Saddam back in power.
Of course, If Saddam was still in power, you might not have the almighty mess in Iraq you have now. But still...
Anyway, did i say that Pinochet was NOT a cunt? No, of course I didnt. I simply referred to his economic record, which you cannnot argue was very good.
But why highlight some positive when you can smother everything with negatives...
