Apparently, the band put around 100 tunes under fake names on MySpace.com and they picked the most popular ones to make their new album Neon Bible.

Now, either they are prolific, or they are a bunch of liars!!

For people interested to listen to the first single off their 2nd album, it's online on their website:

Click on "Win", then "Win Scrapbook" then click on the image and the song will start.

"We decided to try and get a couple of songs out to people before the record leaks (which is inevitable like this Christmas cold I can feel coming), but keep in mind that the record is very much meant to be heard as a whole. That is why we leaked 100 songs on myspace as fake band names over the last year and then made a compilation of the 11 most popular songs and called it Neon Bible!"

100 tunes!! that's more than most bands come up with in a lifetime.BUT are any of them any good. Frank Zappa came up with about a thousand tunes in his lifetime, problem is that only 50-60 are listenable.

Considering the amount of people in the band.. 100 is probably a solo album each... so it's not so bad.

I don't know if Arcade Fire was genuine to use this strategy, but it is ingenious.

Yeah, but I'm not sure yet this will be as good as the first one though.

There isn't a bad track on the first album, though obviously it would require more listening... I don't like all albums at first listening.. it took me a full year to re-try Antics from Interpol and I'm loving it now.

Now that I think about it, Arcade Fire is on an indie label... from my college town  ! For some reason, it's now in Durham.
