A few good tracks on Rhythm and Stealth from what i recall.Haven't dug it out in yonks.A track called Swords with a female vocalist (don't know her name) is/was my favourite.

Yeah Rhythm & Stealth has got Phat Planet on it. Their best track for me is Not Forgotten,might have been the debut single about 1990.

Me neither, all I bought from that was the single of Dusted, with Roots Manuva, an excellent track.
Two albums. One sublime, one basically shit (although Double Flash (is that the name?) was proper old skool on the 2nd.
Remember Tribal Gathering in the mid 90's when the whole GROUND literally shook with the bass as they revved up.
Leftfield were the nuts, although they had a Stone Roses like gap in releasing albums. First album is really a techno greatest hits, second album is basically shite except for Swords.
I saw them live at Brixton Academy, and the gig got stopped cos roof plaster was falling on the crowd.

I nearly wore out my Leftism CD in 1995 and fucked a few sets of speakers on the way.

Great start with RELEASE THE PRESSURE and then into the fantastic AFRO-LEFT.
Mellowed down in the middle with the sublime ORIGINAL with Toni Halliday from Curve singing 
And then went bonkers again near the end with OPEN UP.

I remember reading that they didn't release Leftism until they'd spent years remixing it until it was PERFECT. Certainly doesn't seem to be much wrong with it. Can't really recall the second album at all. Africa Shoxx is a great song though, and the video is well worth You Tubing if you haven't got the excellent DVD that came with last years Greatest Hits cd - fucking great.

IMO Leftfield produced one of the best albums in the 1990's period with Leftism. I like Dance Music which is progressive and takes you places you've never been before. With Leftism, Leftfield did just that - through the electro reggae of Release The Pressure and Inspection Check One, Progessive House of Afro Left, Song of Life, Black Flute, Space Shanty etc., Drum & Bass of Storm 3000 or Chill-Out of Original. One of these alone would make a average Dance CD a good one but combined with the album climax with Open Up you simply had awesome Dance music. Also I consider Rhythm And Stealth a good album too - it got to No.1 in the UK. Although not quite as consistent Leftism it featured the awesome Afrika Bambaattaa and Roots Manuva. Also the singles Afrika Shox, Phat Planet, Dusted and Swords along with album tracks Dub Gussett and Double Flash still took the progressive tourch of Dance Music which seems to have died of late. They're one of my Top 10 favourite artists and it's a real shame Paul Daley and Neil Barnes don't work together again as they'd surely shake up Dance Music which at the moment is remakes of 1980's pop tunes. No i think Mr Brown was there to see Leftfield. He might have been supporting if anything. Can't remember.
As for Release the Pressure I kinda prefer the original single version which came out a year or two before Leftism.
