Anybody saw this movie yet? I've seen it yesterday with my sister and it's not a bad movie, but it's another movie where you follow many stories that are linked together.

It's the kind of movie that makes you think of all the repercussion of your actions, and that lets you ponder a lot when getting out of the theatre.

There are things in this movies that are obviously done to provoque a reaction, I've read forums and it worked, because some people are offended by it... especially a young boy from Morroco giving pleasure to himself (obviously you don't see anything), and a clear shot of a japansese school girl flashing her "hairy monster", let's say you don't expect to see that on a 60' screen  (hairy monster because it was referred by her by that name, not me ;) )

There are a few other things, but that's something else... makes you think of many thing to "get" what the picture is really about... you might think it's about various things, and it probably is... and the main one is how a gun can influence many people's lives, but it's not the main issue.

I still however don't get my this type of movie get so high rankings from the people who work in the movie industry... it'll probably win best movie of the year for 2006, but I mean, what makes it so special that it would be better than any other.. for instance, I found The Pursuit of Happyness better, but that's my opinion.

I've also seen Children of Man (slow week-end  ) and that was good... I wish it wouldn't end so fast, but that's something else.. maybe there is a 2nd novel I'm not aware of?

Probably. It's called "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood, one of your fellow Canucks (well an English-Canuck, so maybe not that fellow).

I find it hard to take Pitt as a serious actor, although Fight Club is ace!

He didn't get nominated for the Oscars, so you're safe ;)

Quite liked it. Pretty bleak for most but some quality performances and deftly sewn together.

Plus there's muff.
