I remember One Summer,it was great that. pity its never been repeated on UK Gold or something.

It's available on official DVD now anyways. Had it on bootleg video for years, mind. Few people from here have been round my gaff and gone, is that the One Summer?! Every bloke of an age remembers it!
Prospects is available on raretv - thought about buying it, but wondered where I'd find the time to watch it all. Ah, fuck it, I should buy it!
EDIT: I remember a Grange Hill end-of-term show where they all went on a field trip, or something, and went 'casual' and didn't have to wear uniforms. Pogo and Dwayne, etc, and few of the older lot like Tricia and Kathy all turned up in Tacchini, Lacoste, Ellesse, Fila BJ's, etc. Qualidee.

Wouldn't mind catching Prospects again, just for the novelty value. Have got Johnny Jarvis winging it's way to me as I type - not seen that since 1983, so that's gonna be interesting. Some things I just find unwatchable again. Made in Britain has too many 'talking heads' rants in it about the glib social situation of the day and I could never watch Scum again, for the potting shed scene! Ouch.

Its just a hassle sorting the orders,so they've stopped for now. Their busy with the Tessuti shops. If you want one i can get them though,well some-they were made in batches so some have long gone. Sell them on other sites and in shops. Script on Lime St sell them,so i think Kershy should buy one!

Some pretty good choices there Al. In addition to your choices I'd include the following
The Firm - Not the s***e Tom Cruise film but Alan Clarke's drama loosely based on West Ham's Inter City Firm with Gary Oldman as the leader of the ICC 'Bexy' and Phillip Davis as 'The Yeti' leader of the ICC's rivals The Buccaneers. Shoot For The Sun - A grim tale of smackheads, deprivation, violence and drug dealing in Edinburgh featuring Brian Cox and Jimmy Nail as Geordie. The Paradise Club - Okay it was never going to be a 1980's 'Sweeney' but a reasonably good crime drama with Leslie 'Dirty Den' Grantham as gangster Danny Kane and Don Henderson as his disgraced priest brother Frank. The Marksman - This one's not very well known but it’s a three part BBC drama from 1987 featuring David Thelfall as a Liverpool based hit-man. IMO it was way ahead of it's time featuring a plot of how drugs and guns would play a major role in organised crime and It's a pity it’s not on DVD. The Comic Strip - When it was good - The Bullshitters, Fistful Of Travellers Cheques, Bad News, The Yob, The Supergrass etc. The Comic Strip was excellent but when it was bad it was pure s***e. Birth Of A Nation - David Leland's script about a idealistic teacher who is prepared to sacrifice his career to change the system. Edge Of Darkness - Featuring Bob Peck as Yorkshire Police officer Ronald Craven who following the death of his scientist and environmentalist daughter Emma - played by Joanne Whalley, uncovers a cold war tale of intrigue and deception. Network 7/Def II - Again like The Comic Strip when it was bad it could be pure s***e but Network 7/Reportage at times did include some interesting stories and Def II's Behind The Beat did give the first mainstream television exposure for underground House and Dance music in the late 1980's.
Overall my top 10 for Old Skool TV include

Classic series from '86 that i used to love watching on those dark sunday November evenings was The Singing Detective.Prob not old skool but it was ace.Keep meaning to get round to getting the DVD and watching it again

Most of my favourites have already been mentioned. A few other programmes i enjoyed - Monkey, Harry's Game, Young Ones and Superstars. Boaty mentioned Big Deal, i remember Paul McGann as the snooker whizzkid in Give Us A Break complete with the Chas and Dave cheesy theme tune.
Anybody else remember Survivors? Plague wiped out 99% of the population and the leftovers had to start from scratch again. Another Terry Nation effort, dunno if that qualifies it as old skool mind..

Hi Johnny wasn't that one The Tripods which was set in a post nuclear war/armegeddon world where aliens had taken over the earth. I also remember didn't the aliens limit the intelligence of humans with cybonetics after they got to the age of 18 or something? If it wasn't The Tripods a 1970's show called The Changes could be what you're on about in which the characters had a phobia of pylons and other new technologies, here's a weblink for it

Bought 'One Summer' when it came out on DVD...brought me back to when it was first shown on T.V. would love to hear off someone who has all the series of 'Dance Energy' (with Normski) some classic shows.

Affraid so banshee. Gary Olsen who played Pincey in Prospects died in Melbourne in 2000 after losing a battle with cancer. He moved there with his wife who was originally from Oz and he also played Ben in 2 Point 4 Children. Here's a weblink of the stuff he's been in

Didn't they release a compilation on VHS back and a CD in the early 1990's? I'll give it a check on amazon/ebay. If not and if all the episodes still exist they'd be worth a DVD release for Normski alone - remember his cheesy raps LOL!
Dance Energy also had a wide spectrum of Dance genres/bands on the show - from Acid Jazz to Hip Hop to Techno to Acid House to Indie Dance, the good old days before the majors bastardised the rave scene and everyone split up into different camps within Dance/Urban music

Nice one chap....i've checked all over..but with no fun....one of the first episodes with 'A HOMEBOY A HIPPIE & A FUNKI-DREDD' doing 'Total Confusion' was one of my all time T.V highlights.....also seening a few of my mates 'EEEE'd off their nuts was not far behind....classic.

'Old Skool' is like a subset of 'nostalgia' but it only encompasses things which were considered 'cool' back in the day, and ain't a catch all for anything and everything.
Wearing Trimm Trabs and Fila BJ is Old Skool.
Listening to mid 80's Electro and Afrika Bambataa is Old Skool.
Watching One Summer or Prospects is Old Skool.

I was a bit young for One Summer, tho lads I know remember it and say it was alright..Getting nostalgic,so I think i'll nab Scully on ebay an all.Loved it as a kid.
Any of you lot over in Oz remember a cop show called 'Solo one'.Don't think it made much of an impact here in the U.K but i enjoyed it,and can still sing the theme tune.
I have yet to meet a single soul who has ever heard of this show!

Pacers where minty stripey chewy toffees. Hanky Panky were a cross between crisps and popcorn.
Nobody remembers these and I'm beginning to think I must have imagined their existence.

LOL Al! Speaking of 'Old Skool' TV does anyone remember the BBC 2 Open Space documentary Bad Meaning Good which was shown in '87. It was about Hip-Hop/Electro in the UK and as I only saw a few minutes of it I never saw it in full. It centered on Tim Westwood - before he became a Ali-G wanabe t***, DJ's on the then pirate Kiss FM, a Run DMC concert and UK Hip Hop artists including DJ Fingers, Cookie Crew and London Posse. It also featured UK Grafitti artists - possibly London's well known Mode 2 and Artful Dodger and has never been repeated by the BBC in nearly 20 years. Perhaps it's worth being uploaded to bbc.co.uk or a repeat on BBC Four. Cheers!

THE DOUBLE DECKERS! How cool was this,a den in an old double-decker bus complete with fireman's pole,and a combination locked door.Lead singer of Aswad used to be in it as a kid.
