i will hold back telling mine till a few bad ones are posted but mine was at the famous and much missed glasgow apollo in 1982 at the ripe old age of 11, feel free to guess what it was.

2003??? how old are you? im presuming a young un or you had a sheltered life up till that point
The Jam? Seen them in the Apollo myself in either 1980 or 81, so that was my 1st real gig. (I'd seen Mud [remember "Tiger Feet"]:) playing in a high school in Cumbernauld, not by choice, I just happened to be there). Next gig/s was Echo & The Bunnymen at Tiffany's, (or whatever it was called at the time; place was forever changing it's name), saw them loads of times/places. Favourite gig was Aztec Camera (Mick Jones made a guest appearance for a few numbers) in the Paradiso Amsterdam.

First live act I saw (not really a gig, more of a PA) was Stevie V (one hit wonder - Dirty Cash). I never used to go to gigs. Preferring to go raving/clubbing.
Think my first proper gig was Mary J Blige in the mid 90's
it was the one and only mr adam ant minus his ants pre nervous breakdown like i say i was 11 (he had the nervous break down, not me)

The first one was The Bangles in 1987 I believe... outdoor show at the attraction park in Montreal.
But it came close to be TIFANNY with my big sister!! but the show was cancelled.
How embarassed would I have been :p
And then I could have seen New Order in Montreal in 1987... 
well...that would have been the J Geils Band...back in...well..I was either in 7th or 8th grade...

Over the past few years my Dad has developed a rather unhealthy obsession with 'Elkie', he drags his mate or my mum to all her gigs and he even wears a t-shirt with her on it, oh the shame.
I have to admit though, after enduring her CD's at my parents house over the past couple of years me and my sisters have become fans ourselves!
I think mine was Fields of the Nephilim at Downham Tavern in Bromley ca 1986.
Twas either that or NO at Woolwich Coronet.

worst gig i was ever at wasnt so much a gig. a non gig, and it was to see chuck berry, i had dragged my self up to see him even though i was well hung over to sit for two hours being told that the gig would start in 15 mins. Then finally told that the chuckster had decided he didnt like his dressin room therefore wouldnt be playing the gig. Probably my last chance to see a genuine legend and the bugger couldnt be arsed. Also the crowd was the strangest bunch of retired geography teachers and people who hadnt been to a gig since the time louis armstrong and his hot five played a smokin jazz set at the pavillion in 1947.

Phil Collins, erm, I have no excuse, my friend had vertigo and they were sat in the Gods at the MEN Arena so I got a free ticket.
I've been on the 80's tour too! Howard Jones, Go West, T'Pau :) And loved it 
Tony Christie...seriously, with my parents about 78 at a place called the Kings Cabaret Club just outside Birmingham a proper Chicken in the Basket place..just like the Phoenix Club
But Bauhaus was my first real gig in 81 at the Birmingham Odeon and the band was in the Runrunner club after.
first well known band I got to see was the Cure at a festival in 1981. Went on to see them quite a few more times until I lost interest (last decent release was The Top imo)

worst...? maybe not the worst gig as such but at 19 i went on tour with Howard Jones and it got more than a little dull by the last date on the tour

Tough call, my mate had a band that played live in the Beehive in Horwich in 1986. I'm not sure what they were called.
