Whatcha reckon then? There's been 7 so far, all to driving-related offices such as the DVLA, Congestion Charge, Speed Camera manufacturers. We have our very own Unabomber!

Here's my profile take, from the very limited info made available so far:

  • disgrunted driver (no shit sherlock!)
  • has to drive in central London
  • has been heavily fined or generally done by the authorities
  • male, 50s+
  • divorced/separated
  • statistically likely to be of Eastern European origin
  • will have posted the bombs from different locations

Are you doing Evening Classes, Tim? I'm sure you published your profile on the Ipswich Ripper at the time too!

Your train journeys are way too long. You need to lay off the True Crime books.

I haven't been following this very closely but how is someone statistically likely to come from Eastern Europe! :eek3:

Sad but true, stats on offenders show that the majority of bombings are carried out by those with a Slavic origin.

I got the Ipswich Ripper right though, didn't I?

I knew the criminology lessons would come good one day ;)

So, what? The IRA were Eastern European all these years and we were looking in the wrong country for 'em?!

Am sure you said the Ipswich Ripper was 25-40, and single. Like everyone else did. :shades:

The A27 at Havant was closed both ways for 4hrs this morning whilst a suspect package on a bridge was detonated, so the police are taking it seriously.

I'm sure that was comfort to the people in the 11 mile queues.

Oh, come on. It's just some disgruntled cunt from Middle England (say, Chetltenham) who's got a driving ban and who's convinced that the Government are trying to tax (read: DESTROY!!!) the common man just because he does 75mph in a 30 zone.

These people are angry, deluded and very very real. There's a notorious set of speed cameras on a road just outside Stoke that gets set on fire every couple of months by like-minded sorts.

It's like our own version of Montana Man. Or David Koresh.

I said he was early 40s and unmarried, 40s and separated is near enough!

Are you guys still having trouble with Hungarians like in the Monty Python phrasebook sketch? (much of what i know about England comes from early 70s Monty Python, so i may not have a clear understanding)

No, we've fed them now. It's the Romanians at the moment!

Cameras I aggree with, but, not in tandem with speed limits devised when automotive engineering was VERy much more primitive. Oh and hiding them is just low down and dirty and shows they have nothing to do with prevention and everything to do with making money.

The president of the FIA, Max Mosely ( son of Oswald mosely, British facist leader), has the excellent idea of variable speed limits....for instance, imagine a school by a main road....during the day you need people to creep along at 20 or 30, as there are kids around ( although what are we doing to Darwin by saving kids dumb enough to run into the road?)...but at 2am that limit should be maybe 100mph as it's a clear main road with no likelyhood of humans on foot.

He's also trying to bring an interesting thing into F1 based on research that's been done in germany (and also the USA independently).....when the cars are circulating behind a safety car, he wants them to go under automatic control, where they run nose to tail with a computer managing the speeds....I cannot see it happening in F1 for safety reasons ( the tyres would get far too cold and the first lap after the pace car pulled in would be the Somme on wheels)....BUT it could really work on motorways, cars travelling at 140mph bumper to bumper under CPU control. Of course a mechanical failure in one of the vehicles could cause problems, but these days, cars are little HAL9000's and would KNOw they were about to fail and could signal the other cars to let them out of the "train".

As for the letter bombs, I can assure you, there is so Gerry Adamski or Martin McGuinessovic around. The rest of Tim's assessment I'd buy though.

Don't you think though, that some of the speed limits are a bit stupid?

I go along the A45 everyday of the week, just alongside the Airport and within a 100m stretch it goes from 40mph to 30mph and barely gives you time to slow down.......its ridiculous - its not in a residential area - no-one is likely to jump across a dual carriageway with a pushchair . cos their are no houses!

Silly rules.

I do speak as the person who has, in the last 12 months, had to fill in the form from the local Constab; stupid. 6 points on the licence? Joke.

OK, whoever/whatever organisation etc etc it is; I can understand being just a little bit annoyed.......but bombs?

Ridiculous.

This guy really needs to address a couple of his parcels to Lambeth and Wandsworth 'Parking Shops'.

Twice today i had to shout at traffic wardens trying to give me a ticket for being in a 20 minute loading bay for two or three minutes. One of them even said the 'tickets been issued' in his African accent, to which I replied 'I see nothing on my fucking windscreen' as i drove off.

I got 26 tickets last year, which were all successfully appealed, after they hit you with all sorts of legal notices, copies of maps, photographs etc in a bid to intimidate you to pay.

I can understand the anger.

Oh and as a PS; I also pass 4 blackspots along the A45 with (sorry Guys) the Americanised habit of laying flowers at the point where someone has died.

On a Pedestrian Crossing the flowers had to moved by the Council to make it accessible to everyone else; A woman was crossing the road 'with the green man' with her 2 children; a car hit them, with a kid racer at the wheel; killed her and the baby..............the other child is STILL in hospital.

I agree with speed limits......but come on...........32mph in a 30 mile limit etc etc.points on your licence, fines etc etc.......obviously there are exceptions but come on....etc.........

This guy has got off with a 6 month ban and no court costs cos hes on the rock'n'roll.

This legal system, IMO, couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo! :banghead:

I did my dissertation on Criminology ; "Deviance And The Moral Entrepreneur". Was and indepth empirical study of several Neighbourhood Watch schemes which concluded that Moral Entrepreneurs (the NW members) displayed behaviours often more deviant than the criminals. I was a right smart arse in my youth. Wanna buy any of my old books?

Back to the Slavic thing. Statistically more likely where? In the UK? Europe? Worldwide? Who are the Slavic terrorists and what are they fighting for?! More detail please...

I can't get this Slavic thing either  Can you give us a list of these convicted Slavic bombers out there, old monkey?

The last letter bomber I remember was the Sainsbury bomber, and he was an old English man making bombs in his shed.

Also re: the Ipswich chap; I'm sure you were also suggesting at the time he might have been an immigrant worker from the Suffolk dockyard areas too. You might have even gone so far as to mention Eastern European. I can't remember.

are you slavist? Is the Eastern European invasion of the Medway towns clouding your vision?

Where's Maya?

Can you get these "sorts" to come up to Scotland and destroy all the cameras between Dundee and Aberdeen as well? I'll put some money behind the bar for them if so.

OK, the profile drawn up by the FBI when they were hunting the Unabomber revealed that he was most likely to be of Eastern European extraction, as they were the people most likely to use a bomb as their weapon of first choice. I don't write the theories!

As for the Ipswich guy, I did not suggest he was an immigrant worker - go check the thread!

Am I Slavist? Only when the cunts are in front of me in the Post Office queue waiting for their handout when I'm trying to post a parcel, and it's raining!
