As many of you read last week, my car was stolen last week, and it was a 2004 Pontiac Vibe.
My insurance company is letting me rent a car for free, and the company just gave me a brand new Mazda 6 with only 400 KM on the counter. Fine, it's only for one month (legal delay before insurance pays for stolen car)
But I also had a second insurance, "new value" if you you will, with the dealership, so in other words, I will get a brand new car for 25% of its cost only in March.
Is it wrong for me to be happy about it?
I might even take this opportunity to use a part of the payment to put a cash down to buy myself an appartment... and put the rest as the cash down of the new car.
Seriously, getting my car stolen was the cherry on the top of a very bad week for me, but one week later, I realize that it might actually benefit me, and I kind of feel wrong about that for some reason.
Oh well, we'll see... I won't be happy until I am sure I will be paid in full, you know, insurance companies.. you never know with them, and I'm a bit affraid if I'm too happy they might consider I had something to do with it and take their time to pay me.... because it seems too good to be true.
