EDIT: actually this is not as bad as FF in Iraq, this guy hadn't undergone years of training to show what friendlies look like and didn;t have a big screen in front of him showing the IFF squawk of his victims.

how you can link two disconnected incidents in this way is beyond me.
you could make a case that the USA should provide better training to their reserve pilots.
what happened in both cases is a tragedy.
