Get to Camden early tomorrow then! She's bound to be around somewhere!

Totally agree, he wasn't the worst of singers in the early days either.
Noel looked disinterested. Liam was taking the piss. NOt nearly as much as ITV were though with their constant censoring, after the fucking watershed. And cutting of after 3 songs. Bastards.
Who looked most shaggable then? Amy Winehouse was the clear winner for me. Not that I watched most of it, i just flicked on every couple of minutes. And watched Oasis at the end.
Uncle Liam wrote: ITV with their constant censoring.
Funny how they managed that considering it was er, LIVE?

Forced by the suits up above to use a 30 second delay

But the hair was quite extreme.

You'd have to be a bit careful..Amy Healthrisk looks like that twat Russell Brand without a beard, certainly from the back of,or top of the head view
Only he'd give change out of tuppence,no doubt. ![]()

The sort of bloke that gets punched alot, surely? He bills himself as a comedian..I can't watch the annoying doyle.Total gobshite!

Tossers!
Maybe, just maybe, one day they will become aware of a small four piece band from Salford.

Delay loops are very common, and I think the IBA insist on them for events like this (though what the excuse is after the watershed I do not know). Of course they don't think that Oxbridge's finest need buffering, which is why they broadcast, on a sunday afternoon, the Cambridge cox yelling "come on put your fucking backs into it you cunts" or something like that. ![]()
Whatever happened to the collaborations which used to make this show stand out? eg STING & M People,Bowie & Pet Shop Boys,Bowie & Placebo,Joss Stone & Robbie,Jamiroquai & Diana Ross
Thought OASIS were quite good, stand out performance again for Scissor Sisters.

Or Maybe they wont.
Then again, I'm still not surprised that certian people get annoyed by throwaway award ceremonies like this.
And lets be honest, who is the bigger band? It was an Outstanding Achievment award. The outstanding achievement according to the Brits is selling a fuckload of records. Which Oasis have done. And New Order, comparatively, havent. So quit fucking moaning.
I'm with you on this one Liam ![]()
I mean it's "the brits", the ultimate in dumbing down...."oh nobody can handle the word phonographic", quick change it to "the brits" and it'll be cool" wankerism in the extreme.
Seem to recal a few words on the subject of Factory's eventual joining (and probably subsequent leaving) of the BPI, from Hooky and Barney in various interviews.

Er... it's not fucking moaning... it's wanting my fave band to win the outstanding contribution award.
DOH!
What the fcuk was everyone doing watching the Brits anyways?
There was football on the other side.

Why? Its not going to effect you at all. Lets be honest about it, how many Oasis fans actually give a fuck about them winning? I'd wager not a lot.
What would you do if New Order did win it? Fuck all, thats what you'd do. Your just bitching because your sad enough to get fucking upset when a band you consider inferior is awarded some meaningless prize that no one cares about.
Its not when Oasis give it up, they're going to think of the Outstanding Achievment award is it? No, they;re going to think if Live Forever, of Knebworth, of Maine Road, of getting absolutely wasted and not giving a fuck, of Definitley Maybe etc etc.
So Grow the fuck up.
And Al, I saw Bolton on the tv, but thats not really football now is it?

Actually it would make me very happy; maybe that's childish, if so i'll quite happily remain un-fucking-grown up.

Er, I think you'll find they already have.
New Order won best music video at the 1988 Brits for True Faith, just to let you know.
As Liam has already stated, I don't think anyone on here (except Craig) actually gives a toss whether New Order wins anything at these wanky awards ceremonies or not.
Nobody cares!

Its not like they've NEVER won anything. They've probably had their fair share. If they were to win something else, make it something of note like a Grammy or an Oscar.

Craig, in all seriousness if NO did win the Outstanding Contribution award, so what?
What difference does it make to your enjoyment of the songs that NO have written? And remember, they've been inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame. Isn't that enough?

They showed a few more songs on ITV2 or ITV4 can't remember which at 10.30 pm.Liam's voice though? absolutely gone. Cack

Yes, yes, but an award for best video isn't the same as outstanding contribution blah de blah...
I think you do all secretly care- I mean, come on, there would be a mini NO gig of selected songs at the end of ceremony, as is tradition, and most people are a bit keen on a gig or two around here.
And before you start wittering on about that being a 'weak justification' or whatever, don't forget that there's bound to be more people than just me who like to see NO win awards, otherwise why was there such a rush to snap up tickets for the Hall of Fame gig!?

i live 1 mile away tee hee
Oh I just wish everybody would stop getting so worked up about fookin Oasis getting a Lifetime Of Being Boring award.... I just pretend they don't exist now, which is much easier. No, what I found far more disturbing was The Killers winning the gong for the best International group. This is some sort of joke, right?

I think you secretly know deep down 80% of what you post is drivel.
And before you start wittering on about that being a 'weak justification' or whatever, don't forget that there's bound to be more people than just me who like to see NO win awards, otherwise why was there such a rush to snap up tickets for the Hall of Fame gig!?
Presumably because there were fans of OTHER BANDS wanting tickets also. The Hall Of Fame ceremony was not a New Order-only gig you muppet - again - there were OTHER BANDS in attendance which is why the tickets went quickly. Unless you know the specific number of tickets sold directly because of New Order showing up then you're whole fucking justification is weak by default.
You must be the only person who craves shitey, wanky, superficial awards organisations to 'recognise' New Order in some way. The rest of us just get on with enjoying the records, the live shows and being sociable with the people we meet at those shows. Do we need some faceless organisation to endorse our favourite band by dishing out some worthless gong?
Nope.

Er... Let me be more specific then so that you can understand: I was talking about the tickets given away by NOOL- that thread had a massive response.

I watched The Brits, I quite enjoyed it. Not as much as I enjoyed turning over to BBC Scotland near the end and seeing Rangers got beat in Israel. Oasis deserved their award, say what you want about them but they've consistently put out some amazing tunes.
As for yer point with Oasis selling shedloads unlike New Order Liam, we'll never know thanks to the fcuk up also known as Factory, no-one knows how many New Order sold, the best gauge we have is their American sales which were monitored a wee bit better ![]()

Haven't heard her new album or even the 1st one. Was given a freebie ticket for her show in Belfast tomorrow night, looking forward to it :)
What pissed me off the most about the Brits was the fact that Kasabian didn't win anything. I don't care what anyone else on here says: they were robbed!
Miss Disco wrote: What pissed me off the most about the Brits was the fact that Kasabian didn't win anything. I don't care what anyone else on here says: they were robbed!
don't think they'd be that bothered would they, they claim to be 'a band of the people' so awards shouldn't mean much to them.
