A blatant plug from a lurker / irregular poster for an upcoming London gig.

A tribute night to Billy Mackenzie, featuring live sets from:

* British Electric Foundation (first ever live date, I believe)

* Claudia Brucken (Propaganda / ACT) and Andrew Poppy (ZTT)

* Subterraneans featuring Paul Haig

* Electric Soft Parade

* Mower

* Apollo 440

This is at Shepherds Bush Empire, London, on Wed 28 March, and is in aid of Soundseekers, a charity for the deaf. It's being organised by a good friend of mine and should be a fine night out with lots of retro electro content.

Looks quality. Shall see you there! :nod:

I'll be there in spirit. The Associates compete with New Order in my affections. Billy was a genius, not to mention Alan R...

Will anyone who is lucky enough to go please tell me if Claudia Brucken is still a looker?

Almost certainly won't be there (sadly), but I've been playing Sulk a lot lately. It certainly is great to see a tribute to Billy.

Claudia Brucken is an occasional collaborator with OMD's Paul Humphries under the name Onetwo. True Blue went to see them recently, don't think she's changed much in 20 years.

  1. BEF = yes, exactly, as in Heaven 17. Literally their first ever gig, so Gary (the promoter) tells me.

  2. Claudia Brucken = I saw OneTwo at Madame Jojo's a couple of months back. Her voice, and the Propaganda songs, are as amazing as ever. She still looks much the same too.

Electric Soft Parade :thumb:

Woefully underrated. I actually thought they'd split as their website was diverting to one for Kosheen (utter pish!). They've got a new(ish) mini album available on Itunes. It's ace.

I wonder if Glenn Gregory and Claudia Brucken will perform their single from around 1985/6 "When Your Heart Runs Out Of Time"?

Wonderful record, caused many young ladies to drop their knickers for me :hat:
