Yes in the chocolate box of life the top layer has gone and when you reveal the bottom layer some bastard has pinched the coffee cream - 
When you receive the 'I wonder what that could be?' tin of Cadbury's Heroes for xmas from Auntie, the only ones left are the ones you hate. Or worse still, some little sod - about 13, blonde hair; has formed the empty wrapper to look like the last chocolate you love...........

Its a big box o' chocolates, but some are what you expect, chocolate covered nougat, rasberry truffle, coconut, etc. While a good percentage are filled with ass-chocolate with corn skins that get stuck in your teeth.

Any form of media saturation disturbs a sense of reason. Now, people are being impulsive to sensationalism, such as tabloids, reality shows, stations that defeat their purposes (like MTV in the US).
I'm a critical thinker. Now, how about this food for thought: In the US, only 31% of people have at least a bachelor's degree. Aside from the government, I feel that Hollywood is to blame for this. Too many celebrities are getting too rich too quickly and they voice their opinions when they really don't have experience in them, especially for political opinions. Here's a possible solution: For those celebrities who do not have a college degree, cut a major percent of their salaries, then redirect the funds to the Department of Education. Honorary Fellowships do not count.
I'm also thinking if I should extend this to technical people like the gaffers and the sound directors. Hollywood is greedy and they don't give a damn about education. For some celebrities who urge kids to stay in school, they are hypocrites when they do not have a college degree. I'd seriously slap some sense when they don't even have a high school diploma.
That's how you get money to where it really belongs.

I usually try to stay away from these conversations, but....
you mention "only 31% of people have at least a bachelor's degree", and that is a bad thing? At what point in world history has there been a dramatically larger percentage of higher education in the population? It actually proves (aside from most bitchin' and moaning of people), the U.S. is actually quite stable.
Another thing is that, as the percentage gets higher, the less that piece of paper is worth. The world needs the trash guy, the cashier, the one to fight the wars, etc. Without them the creature comforts you have would quickly disappear. Plus don't equate that a piece of paper makes someone worth more.
and the last note, not everyone has the opportunity to complete a degree. Don't think that has anything to do with Hollywood, more like plans and life don't always walk hand in hand....
and to expect people to generously give away thier money not because they want to , but because they are forced to? That would be socialism.
