re: what Boaty said... It's definitely someone I know very well but I also expect that someone to know me too, to know what I like and what I don't like (we're talking friendship here, right?) and I'm certainly not fond of that kind of behaviour.

Sounds like you just need to set some boundaries, if you still want to maintain the friendship. Just be firm in setting the boundaries and your friend, if he/she is really your friend, should respect your wishes.

If they don't respect your wishes, I think the friendship is over.

totally ignoring people is immature. have you tried HONESTY? and have you not mislead the person? just be straight up and not too emotional, to cool it now and that you feel hurt and want to be left alone now, and try not too mean without being misleading.

In all seriousness, this sounds like someone who won't get the hint. You ignore them, they persist. You try and tell them off nicely, they continue. You point to the shotgun on your wall and indicate that it's always loaded in case they come around, they think you're being cute.

My advice: maybe let law enforcement know about this, if it's something that really could develop into more than just an annoyance. I would hope the police take stalking seriously where you are.
