aaaaarrrrrgggg!!!!!

My down-button just fell off of my laptop keyboard. Why the hell do they make the "spring"out of plastic?????? Doesn't look like the tabs are broken, but I can't seemto make all the tabs and holes line up!!!!

Oh well, sorry for the venting, but his is frustrating!

But the point of my laptop is not have that extra piece of hardware attached......

You're probably right, but I'm just stubborn to change.:nonono:

FFS it's easy to fix... you don't need a new keyboard. :nonono:

Thanks for the insight, but this button has got me perplexed. How do you fix it anyways? Seems like the tabs need to slide into the slots, but just isn't happening. Tried fixing it for an hour, and got no where fast.

All I can say, is be careful. Ask a friend or take it to a shop if in doubt.

Actually getting a full sized keyboard is a good idea. A friend of mine has a special stand for his laptop and uses a full sized keyboard and proper mouse for when he is at home.

I know I shouldn't be giving advice on computers, as I prolly are one of least qualified people to do so. LOL

I just have been fighting with them for over 10 years.

Should i use a rubber mallet, mini sledge, or one of those that a boxing glove pops out on a spring?:smoking:

In purely engineering terms, the effects of each alternative will be nominally identical. But you'll get much better youtube mileage with the glove.

This reminds me of the time I got one of the guys I work with to call the help desk with a dyslexic computer after I swapped a few of the keys around.
