I do, but only in my car while driving. Last week I bought another 4 tapes on allegro.pl (kind of e-bay, but much better):
Funny is all these tapes was completely new,wtf? Cost - about 1,5 Euro each, hehehe.yep ,,got all me old boots to listen to at home ,,as i dont know how to transfer em over.

Have not played a tape in years. I still listen to records every now and then; but not tapes.

I have a bunch of cassette tapes in a box- thats if you're referring to cassette tapes,ah-no play from this girl.
Err... I don't have any tape device in this house and I've not seen one in a while.
I do have a turntable I BOUGHT in 1996 to convert my vinyls to mp3, I still have no idea why I still have this though.
And I still wonder why UK still produce 7" singles... I just don't get it. Who the hell wants a format that will scratch and lose quality over time?

Until they scratch and lose quality, their quality is better than a brand new cd (standard cd I mean). And MP3 just sound awful. I use them because it is easy to store and to use but nothing compares to a brand new vinyl.
To answer Arek, I still use tapes in my car.
Well, you need something like this (which just arrived through the post today)!
Fits into a PC drive bay, and requires a spare slot in the back of the PC (non-specific, i.e. it doesn't actually fit into a PCI/etc slot, just takes up a spare space).
You just put the cassette into the slot, press play and it records to a WAV.
Okay, it does cost 100 quid, but I've got enough tapes to justify that purchase!

Hmmm, whats the point? I want a machine that will encode MP3 and other digital formats into 12" black round plastic discs with a hole in the centre and a grove on both sides. Does such a thing exist??
I have a lot of albums on tape. But, I'm too lazy to buy them on CD, unless they die completely, like my copy of PSB's Please. Actually, when the tape deck on my Sony boombox (it's about 12 years old) died last year, I went out and bought a separate tape deck to play all my albums.

Wish it did - obviously with a WAV file you could take it down to a record pressing plant, but I would doubt very much there is a consumer version out there? :)

& I'd also like to see VINYL make a proper comeback - i miss the QUALITY.
Fact is, CD surfaces seem to get scratched easier than vinyl did; plus the quality on CD is relatively crap to start with

actually, I take that back...when my buddy Marcus purchased his new car at the end of last year, a fucking Acura mind you, it came with a tape player, along with the 6 CD system...
interesting...so when I went to half price books the about a month ago with his wife, I bought him a used copy of Michael Jackson's "BAD" as a joke...not sure if he's played it yet...ungrateful bastard!!!
yeah.....cause I've still got a few of 'em such as the Discreet Campaigns one with the Order, a live Japanese Einsturzende Neubauten one in a fancy package, etc. and any number of tapes that have a bunch of extras. Still play 'em once in awhile.

Well, I guess I have bad ears because I honestly don't miss that old piece of junk of vinyl around.
As for compression, I still don't know why DVD-Audio didn't lift, that would have solved the problem since it wasn't compressed.

You know, this is where digital music failed completely... they should allow you to download it in mp3 if you owned a prior version.
Of course they won't do it, because they want you to PAY for something you already paid for.

When I was rich enough to afford a SUV, I had a system like that... I received a tape with the David Kahne mix of 60MAH but had nowhere to play it until a collegue of mine noticed I actually had a tape in my car...
Last time I every used it... I also played a tape done by oldMonkey in that one, and that was the last time I used a tape.
CDRs are so easy to use, why bother... it's like VHS, I didn't use any for over 3 years now and I seriously don't miss it!

I bought a copy of ? (the best of) on tape cassette for my brother, and then nicked it when I damaged mine!
Don't use tapes anymore, but vinyl for me works as well as ever.
I have about 200 tapes in my loft and do have a tape player in my old stereo. I am quite tempted to get them out, I used to have a load of tapes back in my raving days and I'd love to hear some of them again. Might have a root later.

I really don't use cassette tapes anymore (I haven't listened to cassettes since 2001 or so), so last autumn, when I heard that here in Japan, when a guy crashed in to a group of little children and killed and injured them and he was only trying to do something with his cassette player in his car, I thought, "People still listen to cassettes?"
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with listening to cassettes.
I have a big box of cassettes that I can't get myself to throw out, but don't listen to.......don't know what to do with them......maybe they'll be worth something in the future?:D
well. well. It is nice to hear many of you are still listening to the tapes. Actually I am still going to buy it if only I can find some interesting titles.
