Im Just starting the roast dinner 
on the menu today....
Roast Chicken Sprouts Honey Glazed Roast Parsnips Roast Spuds and Stuffin with gravy

Lovely, that's what I'm fixing for breakfast right now, though with blueberries instead of strawberries, along with some cranberry juice and lemon ginger tea.
French toast is a staple of diner breakfasts. The strawverries and whipped cream is nice, but I think the best French toast I had was at a diner in Boston. It had bananas and conconut in syrup on top and covered in powdered sugar.
Also, glasvegas, I don't think you can generalize whether or not Yanks do food correctly. It basically varies from regions or even between cities. I've lived in Philadelphia, Boston, and Hartford -- all in the northeast region -- and the food is pretty much different between them. Overall, Philly has the best food out of those three, and Hartford the worst. Philly has better "street" food, like hoagies, Tastykakes, soft prezels, and good pizza. Boston doesn't make hoagies correctly (cold lettuce and tomato on a hot eggplant parmangian sandwich + mayonnaise = 
), but the diners up there seemed to be better. I have yet to find a decent pizza place in Hartford. Every one I've been to has bread that is too soft (and therefore the sandwich falls apart) and the pizza crust is too thick or too thin.
Damn. I wish I could eat meat. . . and cook for that matter. For me, a liquid lunch of wine (and aftershock-very nice) then chinese take away for tea.

Nope, the gravy that's used for biscuits and gravy is sausage gravy. My [real] mom used to make biscuits and gravy for Sunday morning brunch, which I had after I returned home from church. I miss that, really. She made one hell of an awesome biscuits and gravy. Yum! 
One day I'll have to ask Mom to send me the recipe, and maybe you can visit Florida and stop at my apartment and I can cook up some biscuits and gravy for you sometime!

That sounds nice, but I'm a vegetarian.
I'd never heard of gravy on biscuits before, presumably because I've never spent any time south of North Carolina. Then again, you southerners probably don't have scrapple as a breakfast option at your diners. Although, you really aren't missing much.

nah...it doesn't always have sausage in it...as a matter of fact, I've never had sausage in my gravy...we use bacon drippings (but you can use just about any fat that you have handy...butter will work, even margarine)...add about the same amount of flour...cook the flour until you get a nice little roux (not sure if that is the correct term, but you get the idea)...then add milk, some salt and pepper, whisk it like crazy, and voila...good stuff..
Cracker Barrel's Wild Maine Blueberry Pancakes, plus bread pudding on the side....
Dottie's breakfast items (pretty much anything on that menu is bliss)
Mimi's Cafe french toast stuffed with cream cheese and orange marmalade... oh my gosh, I'm hungry now!

Bacon Sausage Fried Egg on toast, and a big hot coffee.
Unfortunately, shredded wheat and orange is much healthier!
