What ever happened to freedom of religion in this country? Can't Satan worshippers put up signs too?

Just be glad you don't live in the bible belt. With all the blue laws that we have here; you have to hope that you don't run out of anything essential on Sunday mornings.

I've heard about that stuff. It's not even worth the warm weather to live there!

There are communities- so we're not talking laws here, but community rules, still it is bible belt stuff- where you can't mow your lawn on Sundays, that sort of thing.

Well in South Carolina, most stores can't open till 1:30pm and then have to close by 5pm. This includes the major stores like Wal-Mart and Target. The grocery stores can open earlier but can't sell non-food items before a certain time.
In North Carolina the stores will open around 11am.
The exception is when they pass temperary laws around Christmas. Anytime people bring up trying to get rid of the blue laws; the churchs start to complain that people won't go to church if the stores are allowed to open earlier.
I look it at that people will go to church if they want. Trying to make people go just does not work.

Exactly. What the hell ever happened to separation of church and state, anyway? Sounds a bit like trying to "force" people to go to church. Not to mention, most non-Christians (gasp!) don't consider Sunday a holy day, and we do have some of those in this country (double gasp!).
