As pointed out on another thread, not all countries have as restrictive gun policy as our own.

So who's got guns?

How many?

What kind?

Do you practice with it?

Carry it around with you?

How much ammo do you have?

Ever shot at an animal?

Ever shot at a person?

Would you ever shoot at anyone?

I'll start...

I've got a gas-powered air pistol, which is about the heaviest thing you can have without a license.

I've shot at targets a few times and once shot at my mate a few times (we drunkenly took turns at seeing how close we dared stand as the other one fired at our legs before we got caught by our wives).

People have been killed with this type of gun, and there's constant pressure on the Government to ban them. I think you'd have to be pretty unlucky to really hurt someone with it though - of course it would do a lot of damage to an eye, but doubt it could break the skin from any distance. So not much point firing it at a person or animal.

I like to go clay pigeon shooting (with a shotgun), but rarely get the chance.

I've never shot at an animal with a shotgun.

I've done a lot of small-bore rifle, pistol and clay pigeon shooting, but don't own any weapons. Have considered joining a gun club though as I enjoy target shooting.

I don't have any. the old man used to have a few shot guns and 22s he had for hunting. I used to sometimes get to use them, but after Port Arthur in 1996 it was just too much bother for him to keep them, so he handed them in.

I used to be a reasonable shot.

if is my wife's. we both have a license to carry concealed. biggest thing i have ever killed is a quail. i will only use the gun in defense of my family. i can put tight groupings at 25 yards.

I used to shoot targets with a rifle which was more toy-like than a weapon... Now it is broken. And this is more or less banned here now. But you can always get some that fire plastic bullets.

I must thank neighbor's children to shoot my car, it makes it rust where it has been hit. But well, my neighbors are SO stupid that I prefer to move rather than having more troubles with them... Sometimes I think that there are video cameras all around the area and that the images are braodcasted somewhere on the web... I grew in a city centre and people living in suburbia seem a little "borderline" to me... at least in my part of town.

Concerning weapons. People aged like me had to spend 10 months in the army... We had a lot of opportunities to shoot with real weapons and real bullets... I did not fancy that that much... I do not miss it at all.

Have a SW .38 revolver, mainly for home protection. Always wanted a few more, possibly a 9mm semi-auto, and a .22 rifle. Also have an air powered pellet gun.

Use the pellet gun to shoot at these huge black ravens that eat everything and kill all the small birds. There are no natural predators for these things and they really screw things up around here. Other than that never had a desire to go hunting.

As for people, well, not in peacetime.

Couldn't shoot a normal individual, but have no second thoughts if it was a "me or him" situation......but you guys probably already figured that out sometime ago.

I would never wield it around as a threat, to keep my "rep" or a stupid dispute. If its getting pulled out, I'm intending to use it. But I'd shoot someone in the knee before trying to kill them. I believe in using the least lethal force to take down someone.

Bit unconventional though cos my right eye is a virtual 'wall'. Had meningitis as a kid and it fcut my eye right up. No point in putting a lens on it, the brain only sees so much so I never get clear vision on that side.

Soooo, I have to shoot LEFT-handed, even though I'm right handed. Which is a right kerfuffle.

Can't do archery though. Just don't have the body strength or poise on my left side to exert any proper control on a bow.

Therefore I'm well fcuking dangeous with a bow & arra'!

Actually got a canny Webbly 'piece' got carn't remember the stats, cos i never use it. just keep it handy incase some c**t tries a Columbine/Virginia type thing at school

I used to go camping and target shooting many moons ago with an air rifle and air pistols. and also with a crossbow. I have never aimed at nor hit an animal target and have no desire to do so.

Edit: In fact we deliberately used the zinc pellets and not the lead ones so that if we didn't manage to collect up all of the spent ones it would be less harmful to wildlife.

Lot of bird shooting near my house when I was a wee'un......barley fields are not somewhere crows are encouraged to be. So I had a go with a hunter's shotgun aged about8. Also went to the local rifle range (.22 target rifles), where for someone with shite eyes and no stereo vision ( if i walked into you when u tried to shake my hand, now you know why), I did really well, still have my cards somewhere.

Of course being from NI I SHOULD claim to have an AK down my trous, an Uzi in my laptop case, and semtex lined skids.

!LOL Those best Wishes w/ any moves. As skewed and p' haps unfortunate as the ideas behind it are. Think it is good that the Gov't req. their youth to spend time w/ a Decipline of sorts. Think it has Benefits. If it was Military maybe those aren't the tools of choice yet- an entirely seperate issue.

For any weapons. Not in the City. Specifically w/ this VTech shooting. Said think 2 clips of ammunition and one or two Pistols. Smacks of Cowardice when someone armed snaps and goes at a Barricaded unarmed setting. Classes were in session..
Grew up w/ some air- Gun target shooting. Mind, it was mostly in the US on weekend trips. Had a Friend who's Propery was close to a Paint- Ball Range. Spectacular Death scenes w/ reflection. Some practice w/ X-Country ski- Days. Steve. Saw The Wind That Shakes the Barley t 'ther night

I've never owned a gun, but I've done my fair share of shooting. You can't avoid it in the South, but I've never bought into the whole gun-owning mentality. I used to play war when I was a kid, of course, but we had toy pistols that were light as a feather. You could blame my lack of marksmenship on weak forearms :D

We did target shooting in ROTC with pellet guns, I was okay but not good. So that pretty much put the kibosh on me being a gun-toting maniac (sorry to disappoint)

I'm buying a gun because of my job. What kind of manifestation is that then?

I was raised around guns and know how to shoot, but I don't own a gun and won't have one in the house. I had a long enough struggle with depression to not quite trust myself around one.....

What kind? Usually owned one rifle and one shotgun.

Do you practice with it? Erm, of course we did...back in the day.

Carry it around with you? Rifle was carried on the horses. Shotgun would normally have stayed in the pickup.

Ever shot at an animal? Well, I've taken a few birds out, and did have to put an ill cow down once.

Ever shot at a person? never

Would you ever shoot at anyone? Depends on the situation.

As a kid, I had a very old BB gun that I'd target shoot with, but since the gun was so old that I could actually watch the BB fly through the air and land about 5 feet away from my feet, I wasn't able to develop my skills. :\ohwell:

It wasn't an air rifle. It was a shotgun-type where it's cocked, not pumped.
