They were drug-addled shit 20 years ago and won't be any better now, that's for sure, even if there is only two of them left!
I will be in the mecca aka Northampton on May 30th.
It might not be the same as it was in the bad ole days, but I cannae wait. Drug riddled is not necessarily bad by the way, they wouldnae have come up with Pills n Thrills had they not been fcuked.
Complete dross? Bollocks. One of my all-time favourite albums. Best times of my life, Technique & Pills on heavy rotation for years. Got loads of mates into the Mondays and even birds from school 
Elland Road 91 up there with the best concerts I've ever been to. The Mondays were the dogs bollocks. I loved em more than the Roses and still do.

It's also great to see how the other Monday's fans have aged.
I overheard some cracking snippets of conversations at Clapham Common; chat about marketing, baby-sitters, ISAs muddling with the drug-chat of those who will never grow up.
Musically, they're never going to be the Royal Philharmonic, but they've always had a vibe.

Funnily enough the patter at the last Mondays gig I was at, was how shite the drugs are these days. I cannae remember too much else. The e's and coke I had were pretty good
Saw them doing a one off on tv a coupla years ago.....tragic...all old and straight, fookin Bez looking like "shit, how did "off my fucking face go again"". One band who should be left to rest I fear.
They always sucked balls live anyway from the gigs I've heard.
I suppose you had to be into drugs to get them. I wasn't, I didn't. Always thought they were shite, there's only a small handful of their tracks I could even listen to, and only Tart Tart that I would admit to liking, and that's because of the recycled Northern Soul bass riff.

I agree. It was all about the drugs. I was right into them (the Mondays and the drugs that is). Saw them for the first time at the Barras in '89. Loved the gig, but mostly cos I was 15 and off my bollocks for one of the first times. Re-visiting their music now I can't understand what the attraction was. Most of it really is piss-poor. As I said earlier though, I'll still have the memories.

maybe you should have went to one of the gigs to get a better idea what they were like live some of the best nights of my life
I remember finding them excruciating when they played Birmingham Tower Ballroom as support for New Order at the October 1986 gig there.We sat for what seemed like hours hoping they would stop and New Order come on.But Squirrel And G-Man is now my favourite of all their albums.Wish i had appreciated it back in the day but didn't get into them til the 89 WFL remix.Best gig i saw them do was their headline at Cities In The Park ,91.Last time was Wolves Civic in 92 .That was cack.
Won't bother making the short trek to Northampton in May.I will just put Squirrel And G-Man on at home and reminice instead
