WOMEN are worse oglers than men, a study suggests.

Scientists used eye-tracking technology to pinpoint what people looked at when shown a series of sexy photos.

They expected women to be more interested in faces, and men in genitals.

But to their surprise, they found almost the reverse was true. Men were more likely than women to linger on the face before diverting their attention to other parts of the body.

Women also spent longer poring over images of couples performing sexual acts.

Study leader Dr Heather Rupp, from The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University in the US, said: "Men looked at the female face much more than women and both looked at the genitals comparably.

"The eye-tracking data suggested what women paid most attention to was dependent on their hormonal state. Women using hormonal contraceptives looked more at the genitals."

The findings, reported in the journal Hormones And Behaviour, support previous research suggesting that men and women have different patterns of brain activity when viewing sexually stimulating images.

I can only speak for myself, but it depends on the range when you first spot someone. You tend to notice things like the way people walk, their posture, and physical features like legs or tits more from a distance than you do eyes. At close range though, I always look at the eyes first, and if they appeal then maybe I may allow myself a discreet glance over the rest!

That said, I am most definitely one of those males who is drawn to the top half

This article indicates tha men are more apt to look at genitals than women are-regardless of the gender of the object! Men even checked out dog genitals!

When photos do contain people related to the task at hand, or the content users are exploring, they do get fixations. However, gender makes a distinct difference on what parts of the photo are stared at the longest. Take a look at the hotspot below.

Although both men and women look at the image of George Brett when directed to find out information about his sport and position, men tend to focus on private anatomy as well as the face. For the women, the face is the only place they viewed. This image of George Brett was part of a larger page with his biographical information. All users tested looked the image, but there was a distinct difference in focus between men and women. Coyne adds that this difference doesn’t just occur with images of people. Men tend to fixate more on areas of private anatomy on animals as well, as evidenced when users were directed to browse the American Kennel Club site.

Women have ogled at men for years.... the only difference is that most women tend to be less obvious than men are when they do it.

Also there is the possibility that the lads are looking at the lasses face after they have checked them out, to see if they have been caught looking and if she's showing any signs of interest or is looking like she is going to give him a slap and call him a sexist pig.

I seem to attract the attention of 13 year old girls. I go to stores and they follow me around (even if I have my kids with me!). Worse is when they start flirting when I'm in line at some amusement park, where you can't get away from them. I'm waiting for some dad to think I'm instigating something and get pissed off at me.
