Yeah it's a good album, though I still prefer their debut, because the lyrics on that were spot on. It's definitely growing on me,and I love Flourescent Adolescent.:thumb:

Its just album 1 recycled to my ears, only not as good.

Whats with the Originals link? They seem to advertise what they wish they had in stock?

I'm with Simon Price on this one, writing in the Independent about those cheeky Monkeys.. . :evil4:

"If there are two demographic groups who are given way too much slack by the southern-based media, it's the Young, and the Northern. It's an approach which is built on two enormous fallacies. The first is the flawed logic that if you can hold your instrument the right way around at the age of 19, by the time you hit 25 you'll surely have made something so mindblowing it can heal the sick and make the ghost of Hendrix weep with envy. The second is the idea that as soon as you get above Junction 13 on the M1, people immediately become more truthful, honest, decent, real. "

IMHO, if you are over the age of 23 and own an Arctic Monkeys record, you are a de facto kiddy fiddler.

Leave them kids alone!

I own an arctic monkets record but i bought it when i was 22.

I have downloaded the new album, but does that count as owning a record, seeing as techincally its not really property as its merely information. And that i'm still 23 now, does that count?

As I assume young people run away in blind panic when they see you coming, Liam, I think you just about get away with it.

Its me mates site/shop lad.

He does get stock in every few days,as it is the most popular shop in our little town he does tend to sell things rather quickly, especially the rare trainers.

They're not shite per se, they are tremendously overrated though.

Brianstorm is a cracking song though.

My wife bought it yesterday. I told her that it was shite and no way was she to play it in my hi-fi system. She can pollute her own cd player with that crap.

They suck cock. I don't get all the fuss about them.

Call me set in my ways, but if it's not from Manchester and called New Order I'm not arsed.*

* That's not really true, but Arctic Monkeys do bum men, musically speaking.

They still exist? I thought bands emanating from the British press ejaculate disappear faster than this when the NME needs a constant stream of new people to lavishly fawn over to sell 50,000 copies every month, the majority to American college students thinking the British are cool.

I liked the first one, even though a good 1/3 of it was filler ("Dancing Shoes" is the particular low point), so when I have money I might give this one a try.

Then again, I still haven't gotten the new Modest Mouse, so that takes precedent over the Arctic Monkeys one.

I never liked them when they brought their first album out. I mellowed towards them after hearing them in my friends cars so many times. Personally I think the lyrics are brilliant.

After reading so many 5* reviews I decided to give their 2nd album a try and I was surprised to find I love it. The last track 505 is amazing. Although I'm sure you'll all be tutting at me, but I don't care, I'll say it loud and proud...

ARCTIC MONKEYS RAWK

After 17,000,000 listens am still unsure, tis most definately more grown up than their last alb,but not as quirky. Theres no real stand out tracks on this one, uunlike the first wi scummy man n that.
