Spiderman 3

Has anyone seen this yet?

I was gonna go tomorrow, but all i'm reading is negativity about it, i didn't like the last one either thought it was one of the worst films i'd ever seen, and i'm quoted and pictured in the scottish herald saying so!

Enjoyed it,though the segment where he goes all "John Travolta",as funny as it was,didn't fit somehow.Effects were as good as ever.The Sandman was excellent.

Looking forward to it. Can't believe you say the second was a terrible movie. The second was far better than the first, but the first was still a great movie.

You are thinking about going even thou you thought the last movie was one of the worst movies ever, what kind of sense does that make...???!!! Next you are going to say the Martin Scorsese must die because the Departed was the worst movie ever.

Why was the second movie so bad? It was above average big budget fare, and a plus if you read Spider-Man before. The ending made me almost cry... the tragedy of Doc Oct then true love actually triumphs, just not like real life.

I'm thinking of going, because i have the theroy, if you've seen the others you may aswell see the rest.

I just found the 2nd one to be one of the most boring films i'd ever seen and it just dragged on and on,the story never gripped me. to be honest i thought spiderman was ok, nothing amazing.

But at the end of the day it's each to there own isn't it.

One good chase scene doesn't make a film. No blimps either. Dunst needs to be told, she hasn't got Johanson's grid. She needs to up the ante elsewhere to compensate. Convoluted, sappy and boring ending.

I'm going with 4/10.

My major gripe would be that he never looked even remotely bad or wicked, but I did like the Sandman . Other than that harmless entertainment, nothing special.

Thought it was ok, on par with the first two films. Better than the other super-hero films of late, Hulk, Fantastic Four etc.

I've heard mostly bad things about it from comic book fans, but they tend to be more picky about comic book movies than the general public who are simply going for some entertainment, so I wouldn't read too much into that unless you're a big Spidey fan.
Our local reviewer gave it a 5 out of 10. He is sometimes off the mark on action films, but his demerits in the review were things I was concerned about myself, such as having too damn many villains in one movie! I don't think the Spider-Man 2 sucked (really, if you think that, you're crazy to go to Spider-Man 3) but I did think the first one was better, though I'm probably in the minority there. I've heard this one focuses too much on Peter Parker and spends too much time on the romance with Mary Jane. Those were some of my complaints about the second movie, so I'm not expecting to love #3, but I will still definitely go see it. With all the bad stuff I've heard, I may be pleasantly surprised. It's worth noting that #3 currently has a 7.0 rating in imdb.com, while the first two Spidey movies had a 7.4 and 7.8. So, it got rating a bit lower, but not way lower. I imagine anyone that liked the second one will at least find #3 watchable, if not great.

I was planning on seeing it this past weekend, until the GF said that she just wanted to be friends :(

So needless to say I did not leave the house. Hopefully I'll get out and see it this weekend.

Sorry to hear that Psy. That sucks. :( Who knows, maybe the movie will cheer you up, unless it sucks too.

True, it is just going back to doing things solo that is going to suck. The worse part is that she was the one that got me back into New Order, PSB and other bands that I grew up listening too and forgot about. But I'm willing to be friends if she does; because I would still like to have her as a good friend.

That is a good idea, as long as it's not too tough. And yeah, there is nothing worse than going to a function with a bunch of couples and being single.

I went out and saw it yesterday with some friends and I have to agree with what other comic books fans have wrote; and that I just thought it was ok. I liked the other two a lot better then this one.

The movie is a little over 2 hours and it just seemed to drag on and on. I felt like I was sitting in the theatre forever. I don’t mind long movies; but I like them to where I don’t feel like I spent 2 hours watching it.

The special effects were good; but to me the story was weak. The story does not have the proper origin for how Spider-Man received the black suit and how Venom was created. There were other continuity errors in the story that I did not like.

I would rate this a matinee at best and not worth paying for a full price ticket.

well do you want to see sandman apologize? i mean really can't we all just get along. i guess venom went to an alternate imploded universe. mary jane is hot, but i don't think peter has rounded all the bases.

So they butchered the origin, as usual. But it can still be a good movie. I try to evaluate comic book movies independent of the comic. For instance, they really butchered many of the characters in the X-Men movies, but I'll still say that they were very good and enjoyable movies. Well, the first two anyway. The origins were pretty butchered; but I also had a problem with the fact that they brought in Gwen Stacy while Pete's in College. It was Gwen who he had the hots for in High School and who was originally thrown off the bridge. Not MJ. MJ did got arrive in the picture until Pete was in college.

I've learned to go into comic book based movies with very low expectations; so I don't get disappointed. This one just seemed too slow paced at times. If I'm having to resist looking at my watch to see the time; then the pacing is normally pretty slow.

I did like the fight scenes and the special effects were top notch. I just think the story needed a lot of improvement.
