Tis a good album. Preferred Lifeblood myself but there's some great moments on the album (title track, I'm Just a Patsy, The Second Great Depression etc)
Maybe it's because Lifeblood soundtracked my first year at uni, but I love the songs on it (1985, Love of Nixon, Empty Souls, Solitude Sometimes Is, Emily etc)
IMHO of course.
fair enough... but i really do think the new album wipes the floor with it!

Ah well. Expect a diatribe from Nicky on how the public schoolboys in the Kooks should die.

Manic street preachers quite possibly THE worst band i've ever seen live, ever!
utter utter shite, nicky wire warbaling shit and the bradfield well of form a very poor night indeed, saw them on Tv performing the other night still piss poor.
"Send Away The Tigers" is their second worse album, only behind "Gold Against The Soul". It is being hailed as a return to form by the Manics, but I think it's just them trying to be the "good old Manic Street Preachers"... And failing miserably!

Agree with you Ricardo ![]()
Personally I think they've been shit since Richey disappeared, obviously not because of his musical input, but because the Wire thing has been given too much lyrical freedom, and they've run out of song ideas. Lifeblood was pathetic, as was This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours, and this new one ain't no better. Know Your Enemy had its good moments, as did Everything Must Go, but they've not done a consistently good album since the first three, for me.

Yeah i think i'll go with that on what i've heard of the new stuff
I used to love them from 91-94, saw them dozens of times all over the country, but haven't really bothered with them since 98.
I used to be a rather big Manics fan, not really listened to much of their new stuff. I may buy the new album to see what it's like/
Am I the only person that thinks 'Tsunami' is the best Manics song?
i went off them when having said "we'll do one album & then split up", they recorded a second album. that & i didn't like "you love us" that much either.
