It's already May 18th over here across the pond and quite a few other places. Just like to extend a bit of love to the man and his fellow bandmates who made such great music. Rather than ponder too long on his passing, I'd like to just say-thanks and be in peace.

Aye ditto. (For a few years in the 80's I was actually daft enough to don a black armband on this date).

Meh, a poem is due for this little showing...

'Immortality.'

[for Ian.]

The days turn bleak, the sky is grey, and all is in hollow despair. The air is cool and damp, sends one shivers as the soul weaves through a lonely cemetary. Tears cannot bring back a lost love, so the sorrowful mourns. But the pain is enough to numb someone, the joy and hope for the future is enough to keep someone moving.

Death is a pain that only brings a strange, new joy. How ironic, how sad, how...

how real.

A shiver more is felt as a new sensation takes its toll and the living soul stops, looks around for a moment. And for that moment, a presence is felt-- as comforting as it is haunting, as warming as it is chilling, as welcoming as it is frightening. It's no ordinairy feeling when your path is crossed by the ghost of someone you loved, someone you lost. Hope is reinstilled, faith is reinstated, and a new lease on life somehow is granted to the survivor who lives to see the next sunrise.

Sometimes the only way to heal is to cross paths with the one who left you behind for something greater than just life itself--

sometimes they leave you behind for the sake of immortality, so that, in the minds and hearts of those left behind, they are always there, never having left the building.

never having left their lives.
