can anyone recommend a good file sharing program other than emule? emule was way too slow and dragging...the safest one perhaps? thx..

You'll need Java too if you don't already have it ( the runtime environment...JRE not the developers kit...the JDK) from Sun microsystems (ie, don't download it from a 3rd party, it will not be right, sun do not allow others to host the legit version).
And also a decent torrent site. mininova and piratebay are OK, but all public sites are sort of lame to an extent. You need to get a demonoid.com account. If their sign up wont let you in, I can send you an invite, but sometimes they are so full that even an invite wont get you in.
And if you want the best audiosoftware...I aint telling :D

I've found that BitComet's quite good as well.
For those having problems with Java Runtime Environment (which I ended up having, piece of shit that it is), BitComet's a pretty nippy Win32 alternative. Does mostly everything Azureus does cept maybe doesn't look as pretty.
Runs a bit faster than Azureus too.
OB.....mailing that in a moment. Just hope they still take invites (couple of months ago they shut ALL registrations, even invites, dunno what the score is now).
I hear BitComet has come a long way, but it used to be one of those that messed up reporting your uploads, a lot of folks using it got a lot of unjustified ratio grief, it seems not to be like that anymore.
Azureus offers safepeer (stops you getting busted by keeping the "cops" out of your torrents), and some killer options for getting the files you want from a big torrent.
You are not wrong about the bloody JRE though, it just keeps spawning new threads til your ram is gone. We run azurues displayless on our trusty fileserver (and general digital slave) Guzunda, then me bro and I connect to that with clients called "azmrc" (azurueus multiuser remote control), that DON'T use 4 ton of Java. Result is 2 happy desktops and an overworked fileserver ;)
can't recall why Azureus gave me some problems (undoubtedly on my end), but I use uTorrent now with no problems whatsoever.
managed to get on Demonoid as well, tried a few times on a Friday, I think it was, and got it with no problem....

Really. Azureus if I can 
spell and type it right.. seems Diligent w/ updates, seemless security and such.
Might it be worth switchin over and trying BitComet, uTorrent or another.
