Tony sits down in a diner... Tony plays the rather ironic so bad it's funny now Journey song on the jukebox... Carmela comes in stressed out/ slightly upset about something we never will know... Kinda Italian looking guy in ugly 1982 blue Member's Only Jacket sits down at the counter and acts kinda creepy, maybe he is just weird... A.J. comes in and sits down... A couple of blacks kids come in... The waitress brings a fresh basket of onion rings for the table... Meadow has the most dramatic parallel parking sequence in movie/television history. Will Meadow park her Lexus in time? Or will she be too late? Or is it better if she is too late?... The creepy Member's Only Jacket guy goes into the restroom to either piss, masturbate, or pull a large gun out his jacket, we can't tell... Meadow hurriedly starts to enter the diner and......... they pull the plug on The Sopranos.
Any comments? Insight? Am I missing something? Just a perverse anti-TV ending? A piss-off to the audience? Life never ends but TV series do...?
... a dinner is just a dinner, life goes on and maybe next week Tony gets arrested by the feds or whatever, or not. Maybe that Member's Only guy had a big gun stuffed in his Member's Only jacket and he burst out of the bathroom and shot Tony, spraying his blood all over his family in revenge for having Phil whacked in front of his grandkids and wife. Or not... maybe it's just dinner, and Tony gets even more powerful than even but goes to jail in 10-12 years... or not.
If they had just ended getting Tony arrested without knowing whether he goes to jail or not, at least it would have brought the series full circle sort of.
