Hello Mods and Admins. We had a very good and lengthy discussion on the band The Mission U.K. a few years ago. I don't remember exactly what year it was but I know it was between 2001-2005. Is there any way you can please find this thread and post a link to it? Does anyone else remember the thread?

Erm The Mission
The only thing I really know about them was they appealed to the 'goth' brigade, that they had a few singles in the charts in the late '80's and their lead singer Wayne Hussey got totally trolley'd on something like 20 pints of beer and a bottle of Jack Daniels when he appeared on the James Whale Show on late night ITV - not a pretty sight!

Seriously though, they are the greatest band of all time and are much MUCH better than New Order. Wayne sings with a lot more passion than Barney and their songs have an incredible melodic hard-rock hook to them that I haven't found anywhere else. Even Interpol has said they were strongly influenced by the Mission.
I hear the first three albums have been remastered/re-issued by the way

You are a fucking nutcase. The Mission are, were, and always have been the worst king of overblown, portentuous goth tripe. Their only saving grace is that behind the image they were just a bunch of Yorkshire pissheads who should really have been throwing bottles of urine at each other on the terraces at Elland Road....

It was bags of Homepride when i, ahem, went to one of their gigs. We took three at the time and didnt use them all; ended up taking 'em back to parents for baking a cake.

How on earth did you find it by the way? I tried using that little search bar on the side and nothing came up under The Mission UK or even the word "Mission".
