Have to say im very disappointed with this new album.
Its ok, there are some good tunes on it, but it just sems very 'by numbers' to me. I expect more from the Chems. How many times are they gonna do the slowing down sequencer bit?
Even the 'guests' are getting a bit predictable as in its someone who's on the way up. Why not get someone famous and pull a vocal out of them that no-one thought possible.
Their weakest album yet i think.
Speaking of new albums, anyone heard the new Interpol? Very disappointing, I think. With the exception of 2 or 3 songs, they are really treading water musically, but the vast number of songs just aren't very memorable. Their worst album yet, easily.
I think The Chemical Brothers hit there peak with surrender, Although they've done the odd class track on each album since.

I like bits of it. Simian Mobile Disco's Attack Decay Sustain Release is a bit of a belter, though. Especially 'I Belive'.

Caned it when I first got it, though that's tailed off somewhat now.
Saturate's made it into my 25 Most Played tracks on me iPod though.
Also like Burst Generator and the Klaxons effort. And the one with the bird singing.
Final couple of tracks are poor though, IMO, and the title track and single aren't exactly showstoppers.

Thats because you've probably downloaded the alleged fake album which was leaked. The 'real' one hasnt been leaked yet.
Saturate, Do it Again and Modern Midnight Conversation are my favorites songs so far.
As i said in another thread, we are the night includes the worst chembros song ever..it's called the Salmom Dance.

Yes it has. It did last week.
I like it.Loving most of the tracks on there especially the last 3 or 4 ...Not their best but better than Come With Us.Don't know about the last album, whatever that was called (the one with Galvanise on) as i never bothered with it on the strength (or weakness ) of Galvanise.

I've listened to it a few times and I think it's great.
The Chems rarely deliver a break, despite always sounding like they are just about to. This can get a bit frustrating if you're in the mood for an all-out dance record. I've found the same at the gigs I've seen - they seem to build to a point which seldom arrives.
I think of them more as having a more ambient style, and I really love them once I get into that mindset.
They do reach a peak every now and again and it's all the more special for not being expected in every track.
EDIT: was very dissapointed not to see the exploding teapot at Rock Ness. Saw two gigs on the Push the Button tour and the teapot was certainly a highlight. The teapot hangs for an eternity, the music builds and builds, then - POW - the teapot explodes into a million peices in perfect time to the big break to end them all. I'll never forget the audience reaction at V95 - never heard a collective 'ooh' like it from any audience. Utter class.
(Err, the teapot was on the big screen behind the band, in case anyone's thinking they actually harmed a real teapot. It was just a computer teapot, I'm sure.)
I'm disappointed with it as well, found it tough to find a proper standout track.
Saturate, Das Spiegel and Burst Generator are the ones I listen to the most. The first single isn't up to their usual form... sounds like something Justin Trousersnake would do. The Salmon Dance is shite, what were they thinking? 
The rest they've either done (better) on previous albums or is just filler.
They were brilliant at Rock Ness though; first time I'd seem 'em and they're obviously more of a live outfit. I'd make an effort to go to more of their gigs but won't be shelling out for We Are The Night.
