Car bomb this morning

Gordon Brown is gonna have a busy first day.

Panic in the building next to mine. It ended up only being an unclaimed suitcase. I couldn't have gone home early even if I had wanted to.

Not much of a bomb really.

Still, gas canisters are a nice touch, delayed action to get the emergency services.

Sigh, Tony you bitter man there was no need for this.

They've found another now. No fertiliser, so it's a paki job. Sue me.

half wit's job.

petrol, no oxidant, and only a car as a blast chamber?

you'd have to be sitting on it.

Apparently there's a Jihadist Sunni website that was claiming yesterday that London was to be bombed today, linking it to Salman Rushdie's knighthood.

And yes Cambo.. amateurish, but its very much in the style of Baghdad car bombs supposedly, which seem to be getting the intended results.

The other bomb was taken to a car pound after getting a parking ticket and getting towed. If it had gone off in the car pound and taken out an army of traffic wardens, i would have been faced with a tough moral dilemma.

If THAT's what they're using in Iraq then the car bombs are being used to cover death by retard american freindly fire.

You can NOT have a bomb with no oxidizer. This "bomb" would have burst into flames, possible showering passers by with that smooth edged car glass. The gass cyhlinders would have failed safe and jetted their contents out without exploding.

Explosive=fuel+oxidizer, no oxygen, no bomb.

I dare say had anyone watched it go off, sorry, catch fire, and stood around long enough, they MAY have been singed a bit by a gas tank jet.

Govt will have to do better if they want to scare ME.

PS: Why is it that they used to find DOZENS of REAL car bombs made by REAL terrorists with REAL explosives knowlege every year, and that was minor news. Now cos it's brown people planting them, we're supposed to be scared shitless of something made by someone who failed 2nd form general science.

PPS: I have watched from some 40yards, a car with about a gallon of petrol tipped inside it, burn out....the fire service didn't even feel the need to move us. And also seen a 50KG gas cylinder burning out (gas heater seals failed and nearly torhced our house when I was a kid) so I'm not just "campbelling" here.

well, I keep getting told that the bombs would have caused maximum damage.

“Deputy Assistant Commissioner Clarke says police have defused two Mercedes cars packed with fuel, gas canisters and nails after they were parked overnight on Thursday in parts of London's entertainment district near Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square.”

http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/06/30/1966553.htm?section=world

I’m sure the police aren’t going to give us the exact details of how to construct a bomb.

Why not, they do usually.

You're the chief of police, you've just found a prety pissy bomb that might have set fire to a few things and may have injured anyone really close.

Do you......

A. Say "sorry folks, sad bomb, nothing to worry about" and accept the possible loss of funding to the service you could get if you..... B. Say "holy shit. this could have blown london to ribbons and killed trillions".

Wait till you hear them say it was a dirty bomb (it was, it would have spread radioactive material around...£39.99 to whoever knows why....fuck OFF Nora  ). Not to mention all manner of hazardous chemicals and toxins from the furnishings and fittings burning.

BTW hands up who COULDN'T make a blowy up thing, or find out how in 20 mins.

Got to agree with the good doc here...

when I first saw it on the news I though 'ahhh some thug pissed off with another thug at the night club....maybe his knuckles were too grazed from dragging on the floor to settle it with fisticuffs'

You'd think they'd research more...

Don't most people remember the time that bloke picked up a holdall with a nail bomb in it and put in his car boot thus saving loads of people

Edit to add.... my hands are staying by my sides on that one doc.... misspent youth:nod:

Well you must also have wandered through a big hole where a couple of days ago there was a bit of town, and wondered how a few lumps of marzipan or some fertilizer managed to make such a mess. The last biggie in lower mainstreet was a corker, the drains fell in, so it looked like a massive crater, as if the yanks had dropped a MOAB on it, while aiming for a target tug anchored 56 miles north of Rathlin Island.

There was a smaller one after that, and on the news, where in other places you get screaming people and vengeful morons and serious looking mileage making politicians, in Bangor they interviewed some geezer who said..... "Aye, ah was standin down are watchin like, and ah seen the peeler walkin down fron thon car and shouting to move further back, and then there was this flash, and all the windies went in and the peeler's hat gat blew right off his head, it was mad"

I used to be a wild one for "chuck it in the fire and see what happens", and used to have quite the little test facility on a tiny island in a tiny swamp in the estate. FAR to cack handed to take ANYTHING to do with actual explosives, FFS I'm shit scared round fireworks.

Didn't they find another bomb yesterday?

Keep at it!

But if you could publish any travel advice passed to him on here we'd appreciate it. So we know where not to be.

you'd think they would go to ireland for lessons, they do it properly there, did a good one here 10 years ago, 8 ton truck full of fertilizer, fucked up evrything in half mile radius, and only finished the repair work last year.

The owner of the Jeep they crashed into Glasgow airport has been named as Singe Majeep.

Can you imagine the same thing happening today with the current "milk it for every drop of fear and ill feeling we can" approach?

I mean, time was when a real bomb like that had people getting on with it in no time, even on the mainland (although, obviously, those of us in fuckwit land were experts in it). Now some half assed kids (what did you call that movie that was like an Asian Keven and Perry? well they're our "bombers" anyway), do less harm than a well organized ram raid, and people are being held prisoner on planes [1] and airports 200 miles away closing out of sympathy.

1977...Britain has serious terrorist trouble, daily large bombs, govt urges people to ignore them. 2007...Britain has largely ficticous terrorist problem, Govt urges people to hide under the stairs, suspect everyone, accept an Orwellian state and bloody well be thankful.

WTF like?

The blissful irony of it is that if anything REALLY scary IS on it's way, everyone will be too busy arresting mothers for having breast milk in a bottle to do a bloody thing about it.

[1] let's assume for 1 second that the terminal was a hive of tripwires, landmines and dozens of crazed maniacs in semtex coats.....ARE THERE NO FUCKING BUSSES IN SCOTLAND? deplane them away from the terminal and take them to some anciliary building or even a hangar to do the whole arrivals thing. Nahhh....wouldn'y piss people off enough, wouldn;t push them to think "yeah bomb the fuckers" enough.

Are they sure it wasn't one of those Ford things?

if it was, they were probably just two geezers coming to pick up granny.

BTW, try harder, it's not funny enough yet.

there's gotta be a gag involving "here pal, dya want that fucker battered as well as fried"

I've just drunkenly cambelled a taxi driver that told me that Glasgow Airport would have been a hole in the ground if them cylinders had gone off.

Once I'd finished explaining the difference between a bomb and a crap incendary device he was looking at me like I was the terrist.

Those nails were just a cruel trick, he said. Not really, I replied.

Who the fuck takes a friend along with them on a suicide run? I've got some brilliant mates and they go all over the world with me but I recon I'd struggle to man that mission. Just goes to show they were a pair of bottlers, rather than determined fighters for the cause.

Hopefully this new trend of utter shit suicide bombers (surely they should at least manage to kill themselves) will continue and we have nothing more to fear.

And another thing...

I reckon the whole thing is a top wheeze by whoever gets their sticky mitts on the £1.50 that everyone dropping or collecting someone at any airport around the UK will now have to pay.

Robbing gets

LOL.....of course that'll deter terrorists.....

"Our plans to destroy the infidel has come apart, they want £1.50 to get the bomb into the airport"

Apparently these twats were DOCTORS?

Medical degree, fully aware of the role oxygen plays in catalysing reactions in the human body, but still couldn't build a feckin bomb.

Spunk monkeys.

If I were the IRA, I would come out of retirement, since the current Govt propaganda machine would have everyone so terrified if there were competant terrorists on the go, that NI would get handed back to the RoI in a flash. Then you just have loyalist terrorists to worry about, so you can sleep easy. loyalists pioneered suicide bombing in the UK, OK they didn;t MEAN too, but they did.

I saw a TV Special on Discovery Times Channel (Digital Cable) about bomb making- The IRA Contribution of fertilizer bombs and how the Iraqis do it. They will put an artillery shell in a car with a radio transmitter. BOOM!! and when forces approach to clean up the mess have another bomb ready to go off. BOOOM!!

How Iraqis will tie shells together with primer cord to create a cluster bomb effect. Horrifying but I had a healthy dose of respect cause man that is nasty!!!

These guys in the UK? Rank amateurs!!

Says in the paper today the two quacks who attacked Glasgow, and are now believed to be responsible for driving down the London cars as well - Dr Abdulla and Dr Ahmed - were both Glasgow Rangers fans who regularly attended home games!

Did someone tell them Tiger Tiger was a Fenian hangout?!

Hmmmm brown faced hun you reckon.

Explains a LOT, the lack of explosives knowledge, the inability to get anything right, and of course the fact that they only hurt themselves (bomb wise of course, yer authentic blue nose thug has many less intellectually involved ways of injury).

Was actually at Glasgow airport last Wednesday after a couple of days in Edinburgh - damn easyJet couldn't get anything cheaper! Freaky seeing that jeep blow up but it won't scare me off now or in the future! Cheers!:thumb:
