Anyone part of this or know much about it?
Came across a very, very interesting article about this place and I’ve had a look.
Probably the maddest thing I have ever, ever come across. A virtual world where people have a second life (hence the name), but the mad bit is people in their “real” lives are making mega, mega money on there running virtual businesses, going clubbing, getting married and having sex and buying and selling virtual land (people actually pay proper cash for this) You can even go to virtual gigs, e.g. New Order
It has some mega dodgy things about it too as it’s not regulated, and neither is the virtual community, so it can be used to fuel some pretty sick people and sick things, and horrific things can also take place, as they may do in the real world.
Very mad concept though, and interesting reading about the real life business partners whose business actually exists in this virtual world and is really how they earn their living. There’s even some one who’s made their first real million from virtual business deals using secondlife.com
Think this is quite obsessive, so don’t think I could ever really get into this kind of thing, but I can see why some people would and lose complete sense of reality!
Good ways to set up a business you have an idea for, but not the investment. Good place to have an affair pick people up have sex and not have to tell a soul about it. No guilt?
A few serious moral things attached to playing a part of this life though, i'd say!
As many of us do, but there are a lot of bored people out there, just interesting how people do use it for two lives though.
