I have a DVD full of Flac files and I need to convert to WAV on my Mac so I can burn em to CD and listen to em properly on my old fashioned stereo.

Anyone have any ideas/ suggestions?

Thanks :thumb:

Thanks for suggestions... Trying out a few options tonight.

Wasn't life a lot simpler when you just stuck a tape in?? :confused2: :confused2:

Got one of them, but quality isn't great when recording to PC, and it saves the WAV file with some codec that isn't compatible with other sound programs...

Hmmm, must investigate (when I have a bit more time)...

can't say that I've used the dBpowerAMP Music Converter, but you may wanna check out the following link to a tech thread.

Thanks to Everyone for all their suggestions

And to OldBlue for digging up the tape to WAV machine...

I found the solution... And for any mac users out there who might need it try MacFLAC. It's a free download. Easily installed and really easy to use once you figure out that it doesn't really need the password it will ask you for.

I was so happy I stayed up until the wee small hours converting FLAC files to WAV. So easily pleased. :read:

Thus speaks the AOLuser for whom fuck all ever works. Macs, my insane old hippy chum, are for the likes of YOU. If someone gave you a mac, you'd be sleeping with it in a week. It would work, all day every day, look great, and get on your tits SO much less than that virus you use now. OSX=unix for retards (no offence at all intended, but much as I pretend, not everyone can do Linux, but Macs run on the same basic system and are so easy to cope with that they are loved by artists and musicians, both traditionally technophoic types...fuckin hairdressers can deal with them FFS)

Ah, Steve. Thanks for the defence. I was too timid to stick up for myself. Plus I know so little about the workings of computers, requiring it only for Logic and photos, that I bought a Mac for the very reason you suggest- easy to cope with. I want to use it so I spend most of my time actually making music, not having to deal with obscure pop-up messages for two hours before I've recorded a note...

Right then, off to college for my day-release hair-dressing diploma :read:

Don't be timid mate. Call a cnut a cnut if you want.

There are many people here that will call you all sorts, take the piss etc. That doesn't mean that they don't like you or think you're thick. Often it (strangely) means that they DO like you. :thumb:

It's all a ploy to blur the lines between when I am speaking with absolutely geek authority, and when I am talking out my arse.

I just read Digi, who although a total gentleman, is an AOLuser, slaggin macs and saw red.

(An AOL account is like a Dunce cap, people see it and send you to the back of the class with the safety scissors, glitter and crayons). Apparently Tiscali are well on their way to usurp AOL as number one online pondlife sanctuary....shame cos they bought out Pipex, a long standing and noble name, going back to before the public internet (back in the days of compuserve and maybe even Prestel)

Actually Mac owners have a number of defences against PC heads. Not least that windows too started life as a REALLY bad Unix rip off called CPM, (Bell-Labs-Unix>CPM>QDOS>MSDOS>WINDOWS). Whay do the slashes go the other way round in windows from everything normal? cos they tried to hide the rip off factor (though apparently there is a story that typing an undocumented CPM command into QDOS produced the same result as CPM, suggesting out and out code theft). And of course you might want them to look up the definition of "operating system" and "application management system" and see which appies to Win and which to Mac.
