Manchester to Glasgow, what's the best way to get there?

Anyone travel this way often? My wife and I made the trip two years ago flying into Manchester airport and then taking the rail north. Is that the easiest, most cost effective way? Any advice would be appreciated. We are flying into Manchester because the flight from London to Glasgow adds almost $1000 to our travel costs.

While I'm at it any recommendations for accomedations in Glasgow Centre area?

I will gladly advise travelers to Orlando in exchange!

Get the train from Manc airport to Piccadilly, then another straight to Queens St. The flight shouldn't cost that much though. The shuttle from Manc would be £100 each way at the most. Err, but that's per person. And there's two of you. So that would be £400 return. And that's about $1000! 'Kinell!

Stay at Gaz's house at Bitch View. Or the Malmaison if you can afford it. It's lovely at the Malmaison. But watch you don't fall on your arse when you're walking down the stairs to the bar like a dumb fuck. Everyone will laugh at you.

The train can be booked in advance for about $fuck-all.

Not sure about manc-glasgow, but manc-london is like $20 in advance and $200+ if booked too late.

Obviously travelling by Type 40 time capsule would be ideal.

The postage would be about £40 for the two of you.

Was last time I posted myself and my bird up to Glasgow.

Why ain't you just flying into Glasgee???

It's generally cheaper than flying into Manchester...at least it has been when I've looked at it...

Thanks much for everyone's advice. I did look into airfare direct to Glasgow. It also added $1000 to the travel costs. We are going over at the end of April so I still have a bit of time to dig around. We are heading over for a wedding and hopefully we'll have enough time to look about the city. Last time I was there we took in a football game one day. Then took a drive up to Inverary the next. Beautiful scenery and all but it was cold as hell for a Florida boy! We were their in March during the kids' Easter Break. Since I 'm not familiar with the terminology of "Bitch View" can you please explain.
