Its all a bit bizarre is this; firstly Columbia Uni inviting the President of Iran to speak there, and secondly, the invitee agreeing.
Clearly a publicity stunt, but a valid one. I'm mildly bemused that people are currently calling for Lee Bollinger's head, in a land that promotes free speech. But censorship is surely something that doesnt give us either side of the coin, or allow us to form our own opinions.

Maybe Ahmedinijad is thinking of running for the USA Republican presidential nomination? Iran is 100% totally fag free since '83, has no porn on the TV, keep women in their place, thinks science is stupid except for weapons, has overcome Saddam Huissein and is stronger than ever, probably is better liked by the current Iraqi gov't, has a nice head of hair... practically everything Republicans want.

(a) I believe he's anti-abortion also (b) but Iran's soft line on transsexuals might be a problem with the Republican base (c) Is he taller than Hilary? (the tallest candidate usually wins). (d) sadly his attitude to Israel will be a problem with all but the extreme right and would thus rule him out.
Thus the Republican search for a remotely electable candidate continues...
I can see it now;
CNN - Iranian leader dies in freak accident whilst on visit to USA, the FBI are investigating ...but it could take a while. As a sign of respect the planned invasion of Iran will be postponed for couple of hours so as to confirm all alibi's.
