I noticed the other day, while suffering RtS being stuck on a loop in my head, that the lyrics actually follow the same meter or rhythm or whatever (English graduates please advise) as Walked in Line.
Have a listen and see (OK hear) what I mean.

I have always claimed that RTS had something from the roots and therefore I agree with you... The way Barney sings, plays the guitar and the way Stephen beats the drums is very Warsaw like.
You can rely on me if you have any problems with people who disagree...

If RTS had been left an instrumental, we'd all have said that it sounded just like a JD song. It's only the shoddy lyrics that ruin it.

Warsaw and Rock the Shack are both clearly inspired by the Stooges. Warsaw was from the innocence of youth and not knowing how to play all that well. Rock the Shack is the delusion of middle age, without an excuse.

Bollocks, basically. It's them rediscovering the JD material and trying to create something in that spirit, and then deciding to spoil it/mark it as indelibly New Order with the usual lyrical banality.

"New Order with the usual lyrical banality." Quite surprised that someone could claim this on this site, but this is what I feel about them since Republic.
