I love music and I love to hear new fantastic sounds that prove that music still can touch and excite profoundly. Anyway, I just heard several bands that, of course, I knew before but never listened to. These are OMD, Heaven 17, Suede.

I remember I tried to listen to OMD's B-Sides back in 2001 and I found it crap. Now I see it in a different light.

I never heard a song by Suede before yesterday. Their voice sounds wacky, hmm. Heaven 17 is interesting.

I did hear of them but I never paid attention to their music back in the 90s, I don't remember their sound or any of their songs, that's why when I listened to their album last night they sounded "new" to me.

Hm...

Heaven 17's "Let Me Go" is a killer. Loved that track. Don't much remember the rest of their stuff.

OMD has a huge backcatalogue. They were really interesting for the first 3 or 4 albums or so and then they got soft. Crush is probably worst of the lot (damn you Stephen Hague). Then Humphries left and they (he?) started getting good again. Architecture & Morality is probably best of the early period. Liberator is an excellent later album... music for good moods.

Don't know much Suede. I like what I've heard by them but I couldn't name you any song titles. I should probably look into that.

Suede were great. Best Brit-Pop band at the time.

omd released a b sides comp? sure that wasn't sci fi lullabies, the suede one?

omd & heaven 17 are a bit different to suede, weird bunch to lump in together. but not really new - you listened to spoon or the national? two bands who have been consistently good this decade

The music is quality, but I see why you called them a girl band. And the voice too. They have an aura of glam-rock or hippie. I liked "Lazy".

I saw OMD in Paris last may. Excellent gig and visual show :thumb: Early songs from the 3 first album were nice
