I noticed the Beeb was awash with poppies yesterday.
Is that right though? Ex-footballers have actually struck a deal with the Royal British Legion to be paid for wearing their poppies! Well, I never. 
I always wear one and I give whatever I can, depending on my circumstances at the time. The major TV stations give them out to any presenters or interviewees who aren't already wearing one. I have no idea however if the people who are given poppies to wear actually contribute or if the TV stations make a donation on their behalf. I disagree with people who say that wearing a poppy is 'glorifying war' - it's simply remembering those who died in defence of their countries or beliefs, often with no choice anyway. It also goes towards financially supporting those surviving servicemen and women who may not otherwise be able to support themselves. I don't really think it's a subject for flippancy. However, the idea of Mike being dropped behind enemy lines in 1941 to rescue Juliette Binoche and live happily ever after is a funny one...
Got my poppy and I give at least a fiver.

Only thing is though: I keep losing mine! Already misplaced the one I had on last night so need to pick up another now. Really, I should just get myself a job lot!

The ones in the UK are crap..they look like some kid in grade 2 made it..the ones in Canada were much nicer!

A misunderstood act, I thought at the time. I certainly didn't think it was anti-soldiers, just anti-war.
