Forget the news on war, bad health care, and poverty....there is a world-wide shortage of hops, and now prices will skyrocket..not to mention beer taste may decline with the use of less hops:cry:

The Heathen Article that tells all

The end of the world just might be around the corner....and with less beer to boot:(

What I was going to say. In the case of hops in American beer, you can't subtract nothin' from nothin'!

It would be very sad if this had an impact on the true independent breweries and microbreweries. To be fair to the Americans, they do produce (a few) reasonable beers, but none of these are brewed by the major breweries. Some American dark beers are actually rather good. We need to start growing hops in our gardens and giving them to microbreweries as an act of charity

One of Japan's major beer companies Kirin just announced recently they will be raising the prices....I suppose this issue is quite global. (Kirin sponsors our national football team, by the way.)
