Richard Pryor was easily the most ground breaking comedian ever.

I also have a soft spot for Dave Chappelle-esp his "Chapelle Show" episodes

Bill Bailey Paul Merton, even if he's more of a panel-show guy than a stand-up.

There's a much longer list of stand-ups I don't find funny. I think I prefer yer traditional sit-com type stuff to stand ups, even if they're by the same person. I mean Blackadder and the Young Ones, fine, Ben Elton on his own, no thank you.

Oh, if we don't just mean stand-ups, Laurel And Hardy definitely. If I ever get a dog I'm calling him 'Laughing Gravy'

John Cleese... not really a stand-up comedian, but can even make a instructional video or a funeral funny. Has done excellent physical comedy, wordplay comedy, satire comedy. Seems like a surly bastard anymore, is he in much public anything lately in England? He can do whatever he wants to thou.
