I just got the Control CD and heard their "Shadowplay" on a stereo... and :barf:

...what an smart-ass arrogant cover version... they are soooooooooooooo cool, they can make a joke version. dickheads.

Let 'em put it on their own album, why not. Makes a statement about themselves.

It's a proper landgrab attempt at cool.

They played it as the encore at the gig I went to, clearly thinking they were doing the most hip thing in the world.

Sadly it soared over the heads of everyone else in the crowd, who didn't recognise it and only came to hear Mr Brightside anyway.

There's only one Killer, and not a whole bunch of them:

You sad bastard. Why do you care? The Killers are New Order fans and did a cover version? Does that offend you? Does it upset you? If it does, you need to get a life, and fast.

I'm fucking sick of wankers on here, getting upset as soon as a signed, professional band release a cover version of a New Order or Joy Division song. And yet its mostly the same people who have a wank over the very thought of the bullshit community competetions that happen on here every so often.

For the record, I actaully think The Killrs version of Shadowplay is quite good, It much fucking better than the version New Order attempted throughout 2006.

Is not a question if the song be good or bad. I mean, i don't want to listen to it everywhere, on some radio stations which will play it after a Robbi Williams, Shakira, or Paris Hilton song.

The Killers' version blows, but it really could have been worse, so :\ohwell:

I'll be happy as long as it's not made into a single.

Who cares?

I mean, really?

This is just good news that it will make the song available to the masses... not that Shadowplay was one of my favorite though.

This version is not bad at all, but it's obviously not as good as the original.. it's just... different.

And if you read my comment about Radiohead's Ceremony, you can see that's exactly how a cover should be ;)

Plus, anybody here is not liking the fact Bernard, Steve, Hooky and Debby will ge getting money out of every copy sold of that album? :evil4:

I suppose this was inevitable! I really cannot wait to hear this! ;)

Foghorn Creamhorn Flowers going all morose and moody - yeah! Just what the doc ordered I'll bet. Mind you, this is going to be the last Killers album tis rumoured before a gratest hits package follows in the new year. I'm already rooting for the local Samaritans helpline as it is.
