I watch it when ever I can. Other good news sources are, The Chaser's War on Everything and Newstopia.

I watch the Daily Show and get a kick out of it (though sometimes Jon can tick me off a bit), but it's satire....not like news (fox, msn, cnn, etc)is much better...but still, there is a bit of difference.
Its not where people should be making thier choices and beliefs from.....

Technically speaking, it veers closer to parody, while The Colbert Report is satire. Different types of humor.

I'll play along with "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on NPR. Most of the topics were previously covered on The Daily Show.

Sadly this shows how crap our 'real' news shows are....when satire (or parody, thank you Pope) is the winning combination people start believing...

did you see jon stewart on crossfire? he ripped into the mainstream news, calling them partisan hacks. tucker carlson said, "you're not as much fun in real life as you are on TV." to which stewart replied "you're as much of a dick in real life as you are on TV." tore him a new one, i'd say.

and while agree that all newscasters need a good assh'le ripping...jon isn't quite partisan himself, a left winger insulting a right winger, nothing new really.... the issue with news is that it's either left or right wing thinking....nothing that simply states news for what it is...Dailyshow is the same way....well I guess there's CSPAN, but that can get really boring to watch...
as jon stewart also said on crossfire, 'you're comparing crossfire to a show that is preceded by puppets making crank phone calls,' and you compare the daily show to other news outlets?
also, of course jon stewart is partisan (liberal)--he makes that very clear. but since it's not 'real' news, who cares? plus he's a hell of a lot smarter than most newscasters (with the possible exception of anderson cooper.
hahahaha this sickness I have really is kicking my arse...of course Jon is partisan, I don't know what thehell I was thinking....was thinking the stupid term bipartisan....

watch it when I can, I get most of my news from listening to Coast To Coast, Alex Jones and Jack Van Impe. 
I couldn't believe people would even listen to Jon Stewart or even watch him. I only trust Anderson Cooper. And, am I glad that Colbert is not running for president. Just what is America turning into?

Well, considering Conan the Barbarian is governor of California and Ronald "Bedtime for Bonzo" Reagan was president over 20 years ago, I think all of this is right on track.

you are aware that colbert is satire? he tried to get on the ballot in his homestate of south carolina (under assumed names)--mainly to show viewers what paperwork was required by the republicans and democrats.
