Ok, it's well known that Tim Burgess is a big New Order fan, but turn it in.

The Charlies current single Cross My Path is more than a tad similar to NOs Sunrise and last night they played another newy, Oh Vanity, which was only a Hooky bass-line away from 'Waiting for the Sirens' Call'. If that aint enough, their walk-on music is now Ennio Morricone's theme tune from 'For a few Dollars More' which NO have been using for the last few years. Still, if you're gonna use NOs sound tech too, then when you take the Dr you get the disease.

Apart from the obvious tribute act nature of the gig they were top drawer. Old faves The Only One I Know and traditional set closer Sproston Green blended well with the new stuff. And for anyone who likes the new stuff the good news is it's gonna be given away gratis shortly via XFM. Which I guess means they're gonna sing for their supper in the future and based on last nights performance that's no bad thing.

Anyone else been to any dates on this short tour?

Yup,

I was at the Glasgow date last Saturday. Great gig helped by the great venue (ABC). Good setlist, and the WFTSC-esque song was called 'Oh Vanity'. The new stuff does sound like something to look forward to.

Your summary, sums it up! Really good gig.

My wife gave him the FAC383 badge at the aftershow which he immediately put-on, and you've now gone one better with the new one, as he at first didn't spot the link between fac383 and the 2006 Vikings badge he already had.!

he certainly will now. :viking:

BTW: after putting on the fac383 badge whilst dj-ing, he then played 'Shack-Up' right away!
