So what's good on TV at the moment? — Forum Archive

Never really around to watch things properly but thanks to Virginmedia's 'TV on Demand' I don't really need to miss much these days. It's nice to spend a Sunday morning catching up on all the stuff you've missed midweek.

What are people watching that's being shown at the moment?

I never miss Spooks. Am usually in Tuesdays to actually see that too. It's the one thing I defo make a point of watching.

The Street too (Jimmy McGovern's version, not Corrie's). British drama at it's best.

Few good comedies knocking around too. Armstrong and Miller has its moments. QI always lives up to its name. And Lead Balloon and Sharon Horgan's Angelo's have started with decent enough first episiodes.

What else is there out there which is worth a look-in?

Would've fancied the Tudors, but have left it too late now.

Sadly, still not convinced by new series though. It is the best thing on at the moment, but I preferred it when they had an entirely different storyline each week. :shrug:

Although I am liking what they've done with Jo's eye make-up. She looks like she's just fallen out of bed in each episode, after a good cry. The little minx.

True,but as its about the only thing on telly i watch, i dont let it put me off

Didnae start watching Spooks till the last series. Downloaded the first four series (from thebox ) I have nearly finished the 3rd series.....It makes it well confusing when er trying to watch two different series at the same time though :laugh:

Other than that there's not much else on at the moment. I intend starting on The Sopranos, anyone recomend where I can get all the series?

And the re-runs of the original Batman on a tues and wed on BBC4 are a must!

I've also been madly playing catch up with Spooks - just got the one from BBC3 last week to watch and I'm up to date.

The Tudors - watched the first two and have the rest stored for later. My sources tell me it's got a bit frustrating as Anne Boleyn is taking far too long to get 'em off.

Heroes has improved ALOT in the second season. I wasn't impressed by the 1st, and actually wasn't going to watch the others... but my wife wanted to watch it, so I did grudgingly as well... pleasant surprise.

2 1/2 Men is a favorite of mine... still great.

Been watching House, MD... I do like his sarcasim.

Spooks , Armstrong & Miller , them 2 Steven Poliakoff dramas the other week - first one was good seeing as it had Michael Gambon in , top actor.The second was alright ish but couldn't really understand how David Walliams' revelations to Mary had fcuked up the rest of her life.

Lost the trail of Heroes way back , ain't gotta clue what's going on in that.

Lead Balloon , ... been meaning to have a look at The Street , rave reviews

Been watching the 2 series of Nighty Night again on Virgin on demand , hence My avatar!!! That really is a fcuking masterpiece black comedy .I've got all Jill's catchphrases going round and round in me head these last few days - "HIYA KATH!!" , " Settle Up now else it just get's nasty" "HOW'S YOU?!!" :rofl:

Watched that film 21 Grams on Chan 4 last night.Had never even heard of it but a top film once you get yer head round the back and forth sequence it's done in.Naomi Watts - fcuking superb actress :nod: .And so would , natch :food:

Can't get alook in for Fireman Sam,Hannah Montana,That's so Raven and assorted American Teen shite,most of the time..

Tend to read more with any spare time I've got nowadays,but watch the National Geo channels,Question Time,reruns of Sharp,Fools an horses,and am missing The Sopranos.Seen them all now.Watched Goodfellas again recently,for the first time in 10 years,and realised nearly all the cast from there surface in The Sops.

Dunno what's good on US TV at the moment, still kinda fcukin' pissed off cause the c*ckskuckers have done nothing to wrap up Deadwood (and I don't get Showtime either, so I don't know wht series are going on there).

The smarminess of the The Business on IFC caught my attention, as did Flight Of The Conchords on HBO, but I'm hardly ever home enough to know what the schedule of these shows is supposed to be, with Deadwood at least I knew it was gonna be on at the end of the day on Sunday.

i just watch mma, live, recorded, best of. doesn't matter. after that it is educational tv like history channel and learning channel. i have all the movies music i need from my wireless media player.

My TV receives Formula One, the WRC and Dr Who and pretty much fuck all else, I sometimes wonder why I do not cancel sky. I suppose at the moment, only the SJS adventures are worth watching, but I haven't been as I've been told that the kid actors in it are terrible and very annoying (also K9 aint about).

have had every one of my classes watching the shakespeare episode of doctor who during this period of poorliness. properly ace stuff. and with genuine educational merit. honest. (after all, what greater ambition can we have for our nation's children than that they all leave school with an appreciation of the finer points of david tennant?) cannot BELIEVE that bloody woman's being allowed to sneak in and ruin it next series. grrr.

yep me too, cant wait for s4 of lost, but in the meantime if anyone aint seen it yet watch dexter. luciously dark n funny dont like much tv but this is worth a watch imo. :)
