Yes, but only to rock and metal music now. And they call it NU ROCK or NU METAL. I'm worried on how our grandchildren will spell the words that we used today.![]()

Hey Liam dude! It's you again.
Do you really have a problem with me? You started this again.
First of all, you are the idiot if you think one statement can make a person a complete idiot. Second, there is a thing in English called figure of speech. But you're probably the idiot for being an Englishman who doesn't know that the figure of speech is part of the everyday English language. And third, I learned that you have a small cock. Or do you really have a cock??

Right, first things first, that makes NO SENSE at all. I do have a problem with you, and thats because youre a fucking arsehole.
By saying that the only new music is rock and metal makes you sound like the idiot you so clearly are. I've seen loads of bands this year, and not one "nu rock" (whatever the hell that is) or "nu metal"
Anyway... singles of the year:
Arcade Fire- No Cars Go LCD- All My Friends Editors- Smokers Kissaway Trail- La La Song Art Brut- Direct Hit The Whip- Trash Maps- You Dont Know her name Interpol- No I In Threesome iLiKETRAINS- The Deception
Someone asks a question. Someone else gives an answer. Liam starts a fight.
Rinse and repeat for every other thread.

Hahaha! See? You don't know what a figure of speech is, nor how to use them. GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
You have a small cock, and the special thread for you was deleted by a moderator an hour ago after I replied there. Probably by your request. Anyway, you can change your avatar to this. Not only you have one, you look like one.
Small cock!

i have no idea what was actually released as a single this year, since I listen to no radio and no one actually buys singles anymore.
so i'll offer Arcade Fire - Intervention. was single-ish.
The recent Someone Great by LCD is definitely in my top five of 2007.
Predictably, An End Has A Start by Editors is also up there.
Now I think more about it... To The Sky and You Don't Know Her Name by Maps are easily among the top A sides of the past 12 months.
Tough to choose an absolute favourite though :\ohwell:
Most half arsed and plainly dull single goes to the Joy Division re-release of LWTUA... frankly, they shouldn't have bovvered.
Hustler by SMD for me, even though its a re-release from last year on Monday.
I also kinda have a guilty pleasure liking for the cover of 'Staring at the Rude Boys' by Gallows.
Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler (as per Bert - love the 2nd-half acid explosion) LCD Soundsystem - Someone Great (as per Ally - some great remixes on there, especially love the Soulwax mix of Get Innocuous)
I honestly haven't bought that many other singles this year (apart from by SMD & LCD), the others being:
A Guy Called Gerald - Proto Acid: The Berlin Sessions 2 (not bad at all - looking forward to his jungle album out soon) Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart (pointless...) Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem - tour split 7" (haven't got round to listening to that yet) Bent - The Handbrake/Leavin' Me (final single off Intercept! - best two songs off the album, but only released as a 7" single - they should get round to releasing the promo mixes at some point...) Chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance (bought for Electronic Battle Weapon 8 - an extended mix of Saturate - the one with the paint video when they play it live - good)
Erm...

pointless innit. i aint bought a single since about 1985.
His Holiness, The Pope wrote: is buying singles just a British thing? unless you're buying indie music?
yes, there are no other singles charts in the world outside of the uk. fact.
Like The Manics' "Autumn Song"
Plus:
P. Weller & G. Coxon - "This Old Town" Grinderman - "No Pussy Blues" !!! - "Heart Of Hearts" Kings Of Leon - "On Call"

Pope, I seriously hope you're being facetious, because the US still has the Billboard Hot 100. Although the music is generally crap, it still exists.
As usualy, I won't know any of those.
Though I didn't know No Cars Go was released as a "single"... obviously, it seems they get ignored by commercial radios in their own city.

Er, never buy singles (actually, I never buy albums either these days, it's all Soulseeked) but if I did it would be the LCD singles (I'm not even sure what they eventually released in the end?)
"The Bomb" by NYPC - so beloved of Sky Sports footie.
Salmon Dance had some absolute genius mixes too.

Illegal Attacks-Ian Brown Your not Alone-The Enemy Both good..
Either way-The Twang...takes it for me.
Staring at the Rude Boys - Gallows Feat. Lethal Bizzle
Lots of good songs released not many memorable ones.
This is beginning to get me aroused. Just played it four times in a row. OK, its the Wombats, but they dont sing about Joy division all the effing time.
Sister Rose - Ian Brown Michael Jackson (Calvin Harris Mix) - The Mitchell Brothers
Album is a a dead heat between Ian Brown and Radiohead, whose Bodysnatchers is the SONG of the year.
Been a bit shit for singles this year though hasn't it?
No Horse in Foursome - Interpol Smokers Outside the Oxygen Tent - Editors Can't Squeeze a Single Turd - VHS or Beta?
Slim pickin's this year.
