My gorgeous Son - he went quiet last night, means he's doing something he shouldn't.........found him with a bucket full of his curly hair, and a pair of scissors in the other hand!

He now looks like he has Lego hair - like a wig that's been attached to his head but doesn't look right as the cut is dead square around the face!

Tried to convince himself it's not too bad and won't get noticed - until his teachers asked me what was going on with the his new hair do!

I couldn't get cross with him though - when i asked him why he done it, he simply said "because there were two strands that were in the way of me playing football"

Is it just me - or are all kids of their heads??

An important rite of passage as a parent. Even worse is when you have more than one child and they cut each others hair...

Have you fixed a puncture on his bike yet? For me, that was when I became a PROPER dad!

I have had the clippers out on my little lad,I must confess.. It only came about because I was doing my own,and he wanted in...So who am I to let him down,he loved it..Then most interestingly,to me anyway... his sister who's a bit older, but not too old to know I'm pulling her leg came in..and saw what i'd done, and I said YOU are next Sophie.. She was so worried,I felt terrible..

But I learned a valuable lesson all the same, about girls.. They are so poncy about their hair, even at six years old,now I only have to start the clippers up..and say No 1 all over Soph if you don't go to sleep... and the zzzzzz's come floating out of her cot..Pizzaz,just like that.:thumb:

I would'nt say I'm a twat but my eldest sings that Boney M song at me,but changes the words to "Daddy,Daddy Cruel" Bit harsh, petal:brow:

I used to have really long hair, I could almost sit on it. My mum sent me to the hairdressers for a trim and I came back with short hair and a very long rats tail. She didn't speak to me for ages!

Having said that, my mum used to use sellotape when she tried cutting our fringes at home, and she STILL got it wonky!

Was giving meself a number 2 with the clippers the other week and had just about finished when the guard slipped and i ended up with a number 1 strip at the back  :banghead: Then of course you have the dilemma - do i do the rest a number 1 or let it grow a couple of weeks till the number 1 strip has become a number 2 and do the rest to match? Did the latter

went the barbers once when i was about 18 for the usual 4 all over, 3 back and sides. This kid trainee with a proper mullet said "who's next". I immediately sensed danger. It was me. to cut it short, he totally ballsed it. So, i said, getting redder and angrier, just do a 1 all over. I never went back there. it took six months to getback normal. it was utterly depressing at the time. I even wore a fila cap at clubs. and i never wear hats. i was a baldy.

our mum used to stick a bowl on our heads to cut our hair when we were little...

I wonder if that's why both me and my sister keep our hair long?

Anyway it wasn't all bad... looking back at the photos looks a bit like I had a 'Purdy avengers cut' retro chic an all that
