Somehow I was oblivius to their 2 night stint at Ally pally this weekend. I have a cunning plan to waltz up to the ticket touts just after the monkeys go on stage and releive them of a spare ticket.

I've been to more than one gig in the past where, if you wait til just after the headline band has come on, you'll usually find a tout with the odd spare ticket that they suddenly want to get rid of for not-much-money-at-all.

Look at these chumps selling spare tix for £70 on gumtree! Talk abuot ripping off your fellow gig-goer. I have nothing but comtempt for this attitude.

I'm thinking as It's a Sunday and venue is out in the 'burbs they'll be on by 8pm. Does anyone KNOW (no guessing please!)

Is that how they spell it. In German it is Stumm.

i understand much of English and American slang because of Yiddish. It is also the reason I don't understand the reason the NAZIs hated the Jews so much. In many ways they were were the most German people in europe who weren't German. Heck Yiddish is classified as a Germanic language as it is 70 -80 % German.

i certainly did go. the monkeys played an effortless set with a couple of new tracks and b sides i didnt know. but slotted in the favourites inbetween caught the second support band " the horrors " shite. lots of beer being thrown (not sure if it cause the beer was piss or the band was crap!) managed to get hit with a full pint right in the moosh. got drenched. spotted kelly osbourne and someone else said they saw mr Ross.

another nightmare journey but managed to enjoy several beers in crouch end prior to the gig. £3.10 a pint!!!

thanks for the on the spot directions Al, cheers mate

Well i did get in on the cheap. But the downside was I had to wait a full half hour after the 9pm start time for the stragglers to stop arriving and the touts to slash their prices. Heard "Dancefloor" from outside, about the 3rd song in. Paid a tenner for an hour tho. Not bad as long as you didn't have to travel too far (I walked). I thought the big hits went down well but lots of people looked like they were trying too hard (and failing) to enjoy some of the other stuff. The atmosphere was more joyous at Klaxons/Justice/Crystal Castles last week at Brixton. Or maybe I was just more joyous...not sure.
