The usual crop of sweaters and Oregon hoodies, some excellent homemade preserves and assorted goodies from my aunt and sister, and some gift cards for Borders cause no one knows what kind of books or music to buy for me. That is, except from my dear brother, who thought that I might enjoy the tome pictured. Dunno why, I'm not usually like that, though U.S. Arsenal fans in this area are the most annoying people ever, even worse than Oregon State fans. :banghead:

You too? I feel your pain. :(

I knew it was coming, but I budgeted for a substantial smaller amount as last year's bill was half of that. What happened there?

Mine was due on Christmas Eve, but I paid it three days late. Unfortunately I didn't shred it.

Until next pay. I have only a third of my usual cash to play with. Shit I've been known to blow/invest more than that on one visit to a record shop. Luckily I don't have to buy anything and my fridge and pantry are full. Yeh and I'm not going away these holidays. Thanks Mr Taxman. Well that's not too bad. I'm finally getting around to doing some long needed jobs around the house and garden and getting a good tan as well. :)

I'm getting a bit sick of eating turkey and ham though.

There's an upside though. The girl at the post office where I paid it is looking at me with different eyes, as she knows the tax office doesn't do credit and that I must have some assets.

Yeh yeh, whinge whinge. Only bad capitalist bastards like me pay tax. It sucks though. It's not like I get to see any of my nest egg anyways.

Just when and how did that happen?? :confused2:

WTF? What is "sarcasm"? Sending this kind of thing in Christmas time is completly unnapropriate. Don`t tell me they draw a Santa and wished Merry Christmas

No, it is all true and they didn't even send me a Christmas Card. :( In a way it is my fault for submitting my tax return on the last day, as I knew there would be a bill (why give them money any earlier than you have to), but I didn't expect such a huge bill.

I have already taken steps so this won't happen again next year.

I got a new kettle, a stick blender (both are red) and a subscription to the Sunday NY Times.

The weirdest thing was a giant framed picture of my stepson from my husband's grandma. She asked for the picture, we took it out of a frame, gave it to her, and then she gave it back in a new frame that was too big.
