My work.

Boss: working over chrimbo? Steve: errrrm, gonna pay me right? [1] Boss: defo! Steve: even with funny bank days? Boss: yup, 100%, look here's the payroll schedule in B+W Steve: ok then, I'll do owt but xmas night which I need off due to religious commitments (Dr Who)

So, I was eagerly awaiting next weeks's paycheck, for a laugh mainly. Not really looking forward to actually getting the wonga out of them, blood from stones etc. I was planning to keep this week's money as much as poss, after all, it is the pay for last week, a normal working week with no complex premium rates to baffle them.

Nothing. Not a motherfucking penny. Dirty thievin shitbags. One person paid, 2 not, 3 missing, presumed robbed.

So, we'll not be back until paid.

Steve: wont be in on Sunday Boss: can't do that. Steve: too ill to walk, and no cash fer a baxi. Boss: you'll be down as a no show, and get in shit. Steve: actually, no I wont cos the company is in breech of contract by not paying hours worked on the agreed date, therefor the contract is in a state of limbo and I can't be held to it. Boss: (U^^&£&^^£%%!!!!!!! Blank look.

Fuck em.

The job's OK, the clients are good people to be workin for, being of proper use to people, and doing some good (which is what keeps me there, I actually like helping folks out). And the proper high brass seem pretty sound for BigSuits. But the in house stuff is like carry-on callcentre.

:banghead:

Thank fuck me ma has a few quid left over from Chrimbo or I'd be lord fucked of fucked hall, county fucked.

Strangely....was gonna order a game online with paypal on xmas day, and thought...."best to see if I am paid right 1st" thank $DEITY I did.

TO our payroll Dept.......

[1]Those of you with long memories may recall that last year, for a full working week, plus all the double and triple time over xmas, we received £20 in total. They, after having their imminent lack of broke, taxi-dependent staff explained to them, gave us £100 each in cash to get rid of us, which we were to return when they eventually sorted wages out. It later transpired that they stole this money from a charity donation fund. And every other year it's been a battle to get them to pay as described, it'd be hilarious were it not so infuriating.

That's shite Steve... :nonono: Makes my own whinging seem trivial, see, we were asked if we would do careers interviews with our tutees in our free periods, for which we would be paid... Fair enough, 'cept we were paid in John Fckuing Lewis vouchers AND then taxed on them, so I end up with vouchers that I don't really want AND less in that month's pay... But at least I got paid...

Did I mention that last year we got an extra day holiday as a xmas pressie, this year? same again for the staff in England, but those in NI got....1 tin of quality street between each 20 people.

They may have cost me a coupla hundred quid, and more when my annual bank charges come out on Sunday, which will put me over limit and get me fined 50 quid. BUT, me and the others not going in on Sun or Mon, or until paid, will cost them 1000's possibly even millions if they lose Govt. contracts. Still, they gotta learn.

And this happens in an old Western EU member by 2007. That is not what I call building a brighter future.

If your boss thinks like a XIXth century one, make him feel very insecured. A master is nothing without slaves...

Steve, you are known as the Doctor?, I am sure you will elaborate a top plan to trick these cunts...

Trust me, not a single sweet has passed my lips.

We never get anything for christmas from our firm. Nothing ever,seriously...Never have:shrug:

We get proper wages all year round,in relation to other jobs in the North East at least, plus probably the top pension scheme around... bonus schemes where we graft to earn it,though word has it we are getting diddled there.. The good pay rates are part legacy of a once powerful union(now piss weak) + good production.. The steel industry in this country simply does'nt recognise Chrimbo, never has:shrug: Keeps on poundin 24/7,and if yer shift falls on xmas day as inevitably it will 2 or 3 from every 4 years, tough shit, you have Christmas in Mordor, end ov..That's how it is.

Sucks.Kin ell.

like Jiphy says , to have that sort of shit in a western EU country in 2007 is deeply disturbing:nonono:

Come now Cambo, Jiphy's right... undermining the bastard is much more rewarding than blatently putting yerself in the crosshairs... strength in numbers. All you have to do is act stupid, act like you don't understand something and frustrate him....

Plus, get a couple people on yer side. When he states to do something, make sure their present. When he asks about it (and it isn't done, cause you haven't touched it), claim he never told you. When he complains, bring in yer friends that back you that they never heard anything he's talking about...

I can play dumb with the best of them.

Like, recently they put a sign up saying something like "you must read everything from the screens, nothing at all from memory", and we thought, what was the point of training anyone then. BUT 2 weeks later when the computers failed and we were told to proceed without screens, we produced the sign and refused point blank to do shit.

More to come now :D

They SAY they put thru an emergency bank transfer yesterday, no sign of it.

You know we don't just blindly follow any order as many believe....

If there's one thing the Corps taught me, its how to say "aye, aye" to an order... not do it... still do it my way (as it was the correct way to begin with).. and then spin it that it was under the intention of the order that was given.

Please note that most of the time I followed orders, as they were decisions made by competent leaders.... but every-so-often you have a jacktard that somehow slipped through the system, got promoted and issues some of the most idiotic and dangerous orders.... but that is what the NCOs are for, to protect the men from these idiots...
